Vampire: The Masquerade craziness

Carbon Dated and Proud
Anyone ever play?

It's a crazy time to be a fan of the game line as White Wolf Entertainment recently folded up shop and was absorbed into Paradox Interactive because, I shit you not, they pissed off the government of Chechnya with a portrayal of their country as murdering gays (true) while controlled by vampires (probably not true).

I got ground zero seats for the whole implosion.

On the plus side, Onyx Path Publishing is taking over the development of the line now and are in the last week of a Kickstarter to update classic supplement CHICAGO BY NIGHT.

Played it a lot a long time ago back when I was looking for anything to kill my 'Fallout-level' RPG fix. It's actually a really good game and a good RPG with plenty of replay value. Strangely, I never quite felt the need to install it again even many years after I first played it and did like 7 different playthroughs.

The pencil and paper series is now tainted by SJW nonsense. The Kali Yuga Cycle is not a myth. I have seen it in slow motion. All we have loved is being destroyed. This is not the end. New things are being born to care about. Just not this series.

Imagine the outcry if they had made the reason for gay purges in Chechnya the real-life one.

Germans actually made it all the way to Chechnya in World War 2. I guess you wanted to help the gays there. Oh wait, that's not it.
Actually, they didn't make it all the way to Chechnya. But the Chechens had a little revolt against the Soviets with some help from german saboteurs, but that one got flattened quickly due to the Wehrmacht not getting to Chechnya. Then there was the suspicion of collaboration with the Germans which led to around 408k Chechens to be deported in 1944, and they were only allowed back and rehabilitated in 1957. It's estimated that around 25% of the Chechens died within the first four years, and some were randomly massacred by the Soviets, which led to, uh, animosities between the Chechens and Russians living in their area.
No need for german occupation for the Chechens to take a big bite out of the shit sandwich.
