So, new tank up and running but I was looking for input on how to decorate and make it look like a nuked out wasteland, with ruined buildings under the water and such. So please share ideas, pictures, items and fish and whatever to help my imagination.

Do you know or know someone who knows how to handle biscuit? You could do some amazing things with biscuit, and its not really hard.

Plus you could develop your feminine side.

Yeah, when I get some pictures up and going perhaps. Until then, all I need are ideas.

Something like this, but wasteland.

Yeah... you just gotta get rid of all the colorfull plants. You can buy a model of a city and just use a hammer and some matches on it.

Whatever you end up using, make sure you soak it for a while to get the chemical residue off of it so you don't poison the tank.

For the fish, I recommend getting some Oscars if you've got a medium/large fresh water tank.

They've got very cool colors (black/gray/dark orange/red) that would fit the post apoc setting, and best yet; you can feed them other fish (small goldfish, etc) instead of flakes (but they eat that too).

They play nice with those tank cleaning suckerfish, but they'll fuck up other fish.

For fish, I will be using guppy and an ancistrus, I am breeding guppies so this tank is for showing off my best ones.

"However, it is dissolved by heat or water, so it's not suitable for making crockery."

Yeah, very clever recommending stuff that dissolves in water.

That would also be awesome now that you mention it. My initial thought was the city one could see at the bottom of the sea in "Waterworld". But Rapture also sounds intriguing.

Give ideas.

I don't know about the tank itself, but you should definitely tailor tiny Vault jumpsuits for your fish. For extra effect, adorn the bigger specimens in leather and attach tiny miniguns to their fins. Hell, you could even put deathclaw horns on a shark and then release it in the aquarium.

Man, that would be so frickin' awesome.

I would be aiming towards something like this. With destroyed buildings and artificial craters mixed into the setting.

Don't use so much ligth green plants, try to use darker ones, and the fish: Oscar it's a good choice like Phill said.

Oscars require over 100 gallons, I have 30 gallons at my disposal. As stated, I'm going to have guppies there.

Enough with the fish now.

I still need ideas on material to use.

Wood? It's like natural and doesn't have toxic stuff in it. It warps under water though....

Maybe stones? You could cast some cement into the shape of buildings... i don't know what else. Maybe legos... those don't seem toxic...
