Thats just my CD rack, I have just as many in a bookcase outside my room.

So, anyone feel like listing what computer games they have?

I don't see any use of it, better list only original ones and your favourites.

Anyway, there is somewhere a thread called "best games" or sumthing like that, so why to repeat all this?

Sid meter's Civilization 3
Sid meter's Civilization 3 : The conquerers Expansion
Are you aware of the fact that:
1. It's Sid Meyer's Civilization
2. Sid Meyer did not participate in the creation of Civ 3, he made Alpha Centaury, way better game
3. As far as I know Civ 3 is just Civ 2 with polished looks and some stupid looking "alien civilizations" :puke:
Alpha Centaury
If you know different let me know.

As far as I know Civ 3 is just Civ 2 with polished looks and some stupid looking "alien civilizations"
Not true. Civ 3 rocks, it's got a lot of new and changed things, while still retaining the good old Civ thigns. IMHO, it's the best Civ game out there. I still need to find the newest expansion here, though. I can't find it! Gah!

Civ 3 did a lot of good things. It had one huge fundamental flaw: startegic resources. The single biggest headache. Realistic? Yes. Gamelay smart? Not in my opinion. Most of my games become a race to Nationalism if the map hoses me right off the start.

Meh, I actually liked the strategic resources(Damnit, I really need to get it....I hate this country! Ehh....well, I hate the fact that I can't find the game. *grumbles*), they added more strategy to the game, and they made sure that you could completely kill off the opponent or demand loads of things if he didn't have access to those resources.
Moreover, in a war, cutting off the opponents ability to reach those things was also very cool.

One thing about the latest expansion though, I disllike the "get a *** every *** turns" wonders. They completely mess up balancing, especially when the opponent has one of those wonders. Try invading a country that has 50 of those strong units. *grumbles*

Oh really? I was glad they downpowered the Wonders to a point where I didn't really see any gamebreaker must-haves like there were in Civ 2 (Leo's Workshop anyone?) and if they added bonus unit producers that's just silly and, like you said, completely unbalancing.

Yep. Luckily, you can alter a lot of rules and really tweak a lot of stuff, so I think you can just take them out.

PS: It's not Sid Meyer, but Sid Meier.

Allthough I haven't played Civ2, I've played CCiv Call to power 1 and 2 and Civ 3 is way better than those two overall. I wish the tech tree continued beyond modern times though.

Civ3 was meh. After the innovations of Alpha Centauri I was supremely disappointed they went back to such tried true and stagnant unit design and such. Lack of ZOC also meant the need to put units all along my huge borders to keep asscrack AIs out of my territory.

The inclusion of a not 100% effective missile shield was a refreshing aspect though. Strategic resources needed to be more widespread, I agree. The absence of a method of soaking up pollution (via solar plants) made me invade others just to clean up their goddamn pollution and stop the seas from rising was also fucking annoying

And what was with such obscene corruption values? Corruption modifiers needed to be linked to map size, not based on absolute terms.

Anyway Alpha Centauri pwns any Civilization though especially the godawful Call to power ones.

Umm... Yeah.

So damn true.....

When you have a big country on a big map, the corruption takes up half your god damn income. It's REAL annoying if you want to be technologically superior to everyone else.

Put in police officers, that helps a lot. Besides that, there were several corruption bugs as well. Maybe that was your trouble.

Possibly, haven't played it in two years.

[sneaks out of lab and over to Best Buy for the final Civ3 game]
