First time out of the vault
Hello! This is my first real post here and i am looking for some info on fallout "history."

I`ve played Fallout 1&2 since they came out and still do, they are simply great games! But i haven't stayed on top of events that have happened around Fallout games. Could you guys tell me what has happened after Fallout 2 and Tactics.

I know that Fallout 3 was atleast planned, but when and is there anything coming out after Tactics? <--isn't that the latest Fallout game?

There was the awful Fallout:Brotherhood of Steel console game from a couple years back which flopped. FOT2 development started and stopped immediately after FOT sales went down the toilet. Black Isle no longer exists, killing a proper FO3 forever. Interplay exists in name only. Bethesda bought the license last year and is busy skullfucking the corpse of Fallout 3. Tim Cain and his crew at Troika are long gone. after Temple of Elemental Evil and the Vampires Bloodlines games were rushed out and flopped. They're "spiritual successor to Fallout" will never see the light of day.

So right now things are worse than they have ever been.

While not officially part of the Fallout series, Wasteland, the predecessor to the Fallout games, there have been plans to re-release Wasteland, possibly in an updated version.

Brian Fargo, one of Wasteland's creators, formed his own company, inXile Entertainment, and finally regained the copyrights and trademarks for Wasteland from Electronic Arts.

I have not heard any more news on the re-release of Wasteland and the inXile Web site does not discuss the subject.

If you are interested in background of the Fallout and Wasteland worlds, there are several tabletop RPGs you should read.

* Fallout Pen and Paper RPG (available on NMA)

* Fallout Tactics Tabletop RPG (available on NMA)

* Wormspeaker's Fallout Tabletop RPG

* Badlands: A Wasteland Tabletop RPG

There was a large expansion to the Fallout Pen and Paper RPG discussing the Enclave. I do not know if it is still available online as its original Web site disappeared several years ago.

The following titles are not connected to Fallout or Wasteland but they have many concepts from these games. Darwin's World has many of Wasteland's and Fallout's equipment and locations although adapted to its own gameworld.

* Darwin's World d20
http://www.darwinrpg.com

* d20 Apocalypse
http://www.wizards.com

* Redline d20

I realize these games and books are not the same as seeing a new Fallout game, however reading them should make passing the time until a new release (if it ever occurs) easier.

It's still online, and it has a nice article about cyborg characters.
Though it does give one problem with deathclaws and a certain implant available to them...
It seems to raise their DR to higher then 100%...

Has it available for download. (Site in english)

The Enclave expansions is quite well written, but it has one major problem - it doesn't fit the Fallout canon whatsoever. The author just took some themes from Fallout games and didn't bother to make them consistant with Fallout canon, and made the Enclave some huge, cyberpunkish thing.

You can download Jason Mical's Fallout PnP here:

A new version, more consistant with Fallout canon, is in development, with the background sections based mostly on The Vault.

There's also an unfinished Fallout PnP by Black Isle's (and now Obsidian's) J.E. Sawyer:
