What was cut down to .223 pistol?

Hello.
I plan to make a small mod that will introduce new sound, graphics and few upgrades for the subject pistol. As this pistol is the one that is worth attention to and it is also my love.
And so I need to know what was the prototype rifle for this pistol. I heard it was a rifle from Blade Runner, but I`m sure there is a real-life analog of it. If anyone has a clue, please tell me.
 
In Fallout they never specified, they just said it was a ".223 rifle modified and cut down to a pistol", or something to that effect - so probably any old .223 rifle that could possibly be cut down to pistol size would work.

Seriously the sheer amount of stuff people manage to discuss about the game continues to shock me.

euhm, i hope thats sarcasm, because the origins of the .223 have been discussed countless times...

everyone knows it's a blade runner tribute & with that knowledge a simple googlesearch will tell you where the parts are from.

it's a bloody fugly gun if you look at the actual prop btw

My hand hurts just thinking about shooting that thing. Not to mention I don't think it would fit in my pocket very well :twisted:
