Who has bought Fallout 2 from GOG? Does it work with RP?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I'd like to know who here has purchased Fallout 2 from www.GOG.com, and out of those people I'd like to know who has successfully installed and ran Restoration Project throughout the entire game and who has had problems with the Restoration Project and SFall.

Turns out me and someone else have reported similar problems with the Restoration Project, and we both purchased the game at www.GOG.com.

Problems:
- Random Crashes
- Loading the Primitive Village crashes the game
- Possibly may cause SFALL ddraw files to be incompatible and instantly crash Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 when the game is started.

I don't know if this is the cause or not, I'm just looking for any info before I make any assumptions.

Just wanted to confirm, yet again, that a lot of buyers at gog are having similar issues with unofficial patches/mods.

I scrolled through their forum briefly, and found out that Brother None and Lexx are registered there - other than that.. not much.

Sooo.. I suggest you register there, if you haven't already, and use that shovel I gave you.. awhile back - might dig something up.

~Just a thought..

Uhm... if you have problems with the GOG version, then maybe you should post about it on the GOG forums.

Other than that... I don't have had any problems with the version I bought there, but I also didn't played much with it. Just wanted to see what was changed, etc. Didn't looked that much different.

Really? What version of the game did you buy from them? Mine says "1.02". I actually just got back from the GOG forum, and I'm pretty sure I remember reading that they changed the version they were selling. Maybe the new version is fouled up?

There have been more than two of you. From what I read, it is an issue with any mod that uses 'sFall'.

Compatibility mode for GOG version is discussed and solved(?) at This Page (80 - about half way down) of Restoration Project thread.

I tested it with the first on GOG released version. I don't know if they changed something after that.

I don't really know what differencies lie between GOG and older US versions but I suspect that GOG sell european (UK) release of the game. Someone reported that this is true for GOG's FO1. But still unconfirmed. May be FO2 has similar issue too. Let's just compare checksum listings for the pure US disk and for the GOG release to make it clear.
