Who's the worst in Bethesda?

So who do you guys think in Bethesda? Todd Howard, Emil, or to an extent Pete Hines? (Or you can just pick Bethesda if everybody is equally bad)

If you ask me, it's Emil. His bad writing plaguing Fallout and I believe the Elder Scrolls are what I see as the main root of problems as to why Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 are bad. Also as to why they feel dumb downed compared to their older games.

You mean like as a person? Emil always seemed like genuinely cool guy to be around. And Todd Howard is just trying to sell his shit (and honestly who still believes anything that comes out out of his mouth) and Pete is just... Ugh. Pete's the one I'd be least like to hit up to hang out with. So I'm going to have to say Pete. Though Emil is certainly the worst for fallout.

The two idiot devs that on a Vault Tec Workshop video I saw responded to the question "Where did you took the inspiration to make a DLC where we build our own vault?" with "Ah ah ah... Because... ah ah... How awesome is it to build your own vault!?".

It's because of idiots like those two that we get all the "cool" junk we are getting from Bethesda...

Pete is not stupid; and surprisingly good at his job. Todd is selling us something ~always. Emil I've talked to [in public posts]... Emil started disappearing whenever I was logged in.

I'm gonna say Pete.
Todd and Emil we just doing their thing, in fact, I believe Emil could be good if he actually tried. Fallout 4 did show some kind of potential even if it was drowned by shit.

Pete on the other hand...
He seems best suited to sports stuff.
The guy seems to have some kind of control over Bethesda's projects as we've seen with the dialogue and I think I remember hearing that he wanted Fallout 3 to be set after Fallout 2.

He also has no clue what is going on in his own game that he is meant to be marketing. Do we need to bring up the whole kid in a fridge situation?

I think he is just in the wrong profession.

Isn't he technically [or officially] Todd's boss?

For myself, I pick Todd, as I do believe that he has the final word on game mechanics [which they gutted, and then stupified what remained]. Though IMO none of them are bad people... Just that [individually and as a group] their agendas are bad for us and the Fallout series (which they've ruined ~for all the right financial reasons

).

IMO... Fallout was bitten by a venomous company, and though it survived, bears a two foot withered and atrophied scar that will never heal ~even if they sell the franchise.

He comes across as a frat bro who got the job through his frat bro friend. I have no idea what he's doing there, he isn't interested in rpg's and he has no clue about game design. Those things shouldn't matter that much for a PR guy, but as you said it seems like he does have some sort of influence on the developement.

Obviously from a Fallout persective, that is if you love the old games they all do a terrible job, doesn't matter if you talk about Pete, Tod or Emil. However, that isn't saying much about what kind of people they are in real live. They could be loving fathers and helping old people cross the street or with their groceries and such stuff.

I mean who knows? They could be really funn and cool dudes to hang out with - albeit I doubt it, if the topic would be about RPGs and Fallout.

Agreed, not about them in their person lives, but professional. I think the issue is the transition or de-evolution of them as a franchise holder. Expectations. Promises and history. If Skyrim was an indie dev's first game, it would be praised by all with the hope of potential. With Fallout 4, with obviously a different name, by an indie Dev, that being their first game, the hope of potential would be massive. It is that they did make good games, they have abandoned what made3 their games good, traded it for quick cash. Most everything they do now seems like ease cash grabs with no effort.

They have many reputations. When you think of a Bethesda game, you might have some warm thoughts to one of your favorite memories, but as a company, do you have any fond memories of Bethesda? I do, back in the era of Morrowind, when they made mods and shared them. My fond memories of them as a company have only diminished.

- Oblivion, one person making dungeons.
- Fallout 3, Oblivion with guns.
- Skyrim, paid mods
- ESO, no one asked for an MMO, they asked to be able to play with 'their' friends, not everyone in an MMO
- Fallout 4, mod theft. Pete Hines being a dick to fans of the series.

Thing is neither Skyrim or FO4 could have been made by an indie dev ever, simply because the massive budget those games had couldn't warrant the adjective "indie" (though I guess that's open to debate). The reputation that you mention - along with the massive marketing - is the only reason why Bethesda is still a successive company.
The flaws within their design have become apparent even to wider audience (especially with FO4), but that's far from enough to make Bethesda change their ways. And why would they? Zero reason for that.

Toddy : as lead developer he obviously has final say. The things he has approved... 4/10 - 2 points for charisma and 2 for that gorgeous smile

Emil : seems like a cool guy, and he could be a really good writer, we don't know how much the higher ups cut out. Maybe he's amazing, but a lot is cut because Toddy and Petey don't realise that stories are important. I will give Emil the benefit of the doubt and give him a 7/10

Petey : the sexiest of the 3. Although he doesn't care about Fallout, his beautiful body and physique mean he is awarded a 9.5/10

So there you go, Todd Howard is the worst.
