McNamara won't give me any quests

Haven't run into this one before, and I can't seem to find any mentions of it online or on the wikis. I'm considering the possibility that it's not a glitch, that I need a certain fame or something to be recognized by him, but he refers to me as "Associate", not "Outsider", and, I had to cheat in order to even escape the bunker (which I entered with Veronica), since on my way out, the door was locked, which makes me lean hard toards a, well, game-breaking glitch, unless you have a 100 lockpick skill.

I tried setting quest stages, but weridly, that did nothing. I might have done it wrong, but whatever I tried (disabling enablind McNamara, setting quest stages, even forcing these quests to complete) nothing changed his limited dialogue of "what can i do for you associate" type of greeting, as well as banter about the lockdown and wind on the surface.

In short, "Still in the dark" won't begin

Paradoxally, this is one of my few playthroughs where Veronica's quest triggers as expected, without a single glitch so far.. -.-

Mods or no? I'm thinking you broke the sequence of events that needs to be triggered, like you basically said. Console commands usually fix that, but my normal answer would be reload an earlier save. I was playing it just last night actually. I always use the bugfix mods now though. Hmmm I do remember when I played on 360 I may have had that bug....It often crashes in the bunker too. Buggy damn game. :)

I got no mods installed. It does indeed seem like a dead-locked bug yes, I decided to just keep playing it, and just accept the loss of some quests. I tried collecting the brotherhood holotapes, but he does not react to anything. Lorenzo's Ed-E quest functions normally, and like I said, Veronica's triggers fire precisely on time - something that in my experience is one of the most buggy parts of the whole game (in most my playthroughs, her triggers will not fire, no matter what, and will only be doable through console, which eventually will muck her up (make her stop following you, and buggy shit like that))

Make sure you blow their base up and loot everything then. :wiggle:

I did.
I tend to play very... "aspiely" for a lack of a better word, I'll repeat myself a lot, and sometimes it becomes almost obsessive. (Whenever I start a new FO2 play, I tell myself - okay, easy now, no need to pickpocket everyone in Klamath, and certainly no need to go grinding xp by locking every damn door. What do I end up doing? That exact obsessive shit!)

I took this as an oportunity to NOT side with the BoS for a change, and actually blow them the hell up.
Can you believe I never blew up Megaton?
