Paladin Danse Perk Question

Praetorian Killraven

First time out of the vault
I am very sorry if this is in the wrong section, also spoilers for the BOS questline below.

I am trying to get Paladin Danse perk and for some reason nobody else on the internet seems to have asked this question. I know you must complete Blind Betrayal, but for some reason, nobody will say how you have to complete it. I stand with Musk, Gates, and Hawking, AI is a threat to us all, and as such a agree completely with Maxson, Sythns must be destroyed no matter how I thought I felt, in fact, having the relationship I had formed with Danse tainted and destroyed due to it only being essentially a virtual relationship has fomented my hatred of Synths even more. I am going to carry out my orders and decommission the synth. Prior to doing so, I ensured that my affinity with Danse is at the max, I spent countless hours with danse, getting likes and loves, have gone through every dialogue option, and after that spent several more hours chaining loves, resting 2 hours and getting more loves. I did the math and I am certain that all that is left is to complete the Blind Betrayal. The perk should be mine once I complete the quest correct? Nowhere online does it say Danse must still be functional and online to grant me the perk it only says I have to complete the quest?

I don't know, but if you're on the PC shoot him in the face and add the perk yourself. You could also just save and play it out both ways if you don't want to use commands.

In order to get Danse's perk, he must be alive at the end of the quest. A companion's perk is only active if you have the companion with you. If you have a high charisma you can convince Maxson to stand down and let Danse live. After that, Danse becomes romanceable if you saved him, and he will still serve the BOS's cause despite being a known synth. If you let Danse die or kill him yourself, the perk is unobtainable.

This just in, very few of the perks (and especially the companion perks) actually have any tangible impact in the game.

More news at eleven.

Where did you get this information? Because as far as i know once you earn a companion perk you no longer need him/her. I can confirm for example Piper's perk works even without her, same for MacCready's perk.

That kind of makes sense, you can't be a level 250 god without all the companion perks.

That's strange, it doesn't for me. I've romanced/done the missions for all the companions on my first game (excluding Strong and Danse) and none of their perks do a damn thing unless I have them with me. Piper's is the most noticeable. That just makes me wonder if my game's glitched. Or maybe your's is. Idk. All I know is on mine I have to recruit them to make their perks work.
