What exactly change and what can you do after the ending?

I haven't played Fallout 4. One thing that the fans has been boasting about Fallout 4 is the ability to play after the ending. So what actually change and what can you actually do after the ending? Aside from wrapping up the DLCs, the rest of the side-quests and exploring the dungeons (:postviper:), and maybe expanding your settlements and defending them while also leveling up.... what else can you do?

I remembered in Fallout 3, at least there were quite a lot more of side-quests and more than 1 big DLC (with its own map), with 2 of the DLCs actually good. And then there's nothing else to do, but it was kinda okay since the side-quests we've done in Fallout 3 only add a split-second ending slide with no commentary at all, while Fallout 1 and 2 incentivize us to do each of the side-quests for each settlements so we can get the desired ending slides for them. Fallout 2 at least, if I'm not mistaken, have some really cool post-ending stuff, especially in New Reno, and also maybe some unmarked quests we missed here and there (and also there supposed to be an explanation how, as we continue after the ending, the events happening in the ending slides is yet to take place so it makes sense if we do some of the side-quests after the main quest, but I forgot from where did I get this explanation).

So, what exactly change in Fallout 4 after the ending, aside from a flag, and what can you do aside the aforementioned above?

I only finished the railroad path but their agents begin showing up in the world. Other than that? Bos and synths can still ve found. No new quests. No big changes at all from what i could see.

It's really disappointing how nothing changes.
It's the ending that ultimately killed Fallout 4 for me

If your looking for change go outside near a gas station with a cup. On a serious note, I didn't find anything that had changed after the ending as pesto gravy still has settlement missions and all the repeater quests still function as is.

ugh so much senseless grinding. I dislike senseless grinding!

I really wish I could have gotten rid of the Minute Men, I avoided their questline as much as possible, until the end when I finished the game I decided I needed something to do.
They pretty much acted like nothing ever happened.

So basically there's only really obvious changes based on what factions you choose for the ending, like guards being replaced and there NPCs walking around Diamond City. What about other settlements, I've heard about Good Neighbour and, what, Castle? What about NPCs' commentary?

Wait, what? Ain't the non-Institute questline ends with nuking the Institute, anyway?

But what about all settlements that need my help!

(and synths that need packages and posts attacked by random practice targets and...)

If you side with the BoS then they wipe a couple of terminals, replacing any writing with "This is the property of the Brotherhood of Steel.", I guess it's a neat little touch but it kind of removes a whole lot of lore, what with the terminals being wiped.
Also the Minutemen get better gear if you side with them, they even start wearing armour.
Also, there's extra dialogue with the companions and, Danse/X688 may turn hostile depending on who you side with.

With the BOS ending you have all the radiant quests you had in the main game, with Knights appearing in Diamond city. You get an apology from that dick in the police station, who then returns to being a dick if you take missions from him.

What's the opinion of the Minutemen on the Synths? This is really confusing me right now :/

That sounds neat, but.... if the terminal contains a possibly valuable information for the BoS, they would wipe them out anyway? Oh well, they probably don't want to bother putting details like that.

You guys are so outdated, it is more like: BUILD ARENA AND CAGES AND MAKE THINGS FIGHT...
