I want to share the work of some friend, that is trying to revive game on steam with new gameplay changes and new steam functionalities, if we can provide him feedback, maybe can get something reallly interesting.

Yes, there are some free HL2 and other on steam, is possible, as long as you made those need game installed there. This one do same, adding steam functionalities.
