Here you have 2 groups of special needs kids:

240,184 idiots who think fallout 4 is enjoyable when it’s literally just fallout flavored call of duty.

And 12,012 retards who think a rehashed stalker clone with no choices or play styles has an iota of fun in it.

Can we at least discuss how much of an annoyance these people are to the fallout community. These are the same people who cheers when Todd “it just works” Howard announced his newest money grabbing scheme fallout 76. People who support the new direction this franchises corpse is going need the end of a noose around their necks.

See you had me nodding for a bit there and then you go and

People who support the new direction this franchises corpse is going need the end of a noose around their necks.

Dude what.

It's a meme of flies and shit. You can't blame the flies for liking it, it's theirs to like.

But if in a place of a good chateaubriand you get a turd, the only one to blame is the cook.

I swear to God if this is you @Helloitme you really need to chill the hell out

i absolutely can blame these wastes of DNA for liking it, they should stay away from the gaming industry as a whole. I know people are gonna handwave it as fucking “opinions” “preferences” and all that bullshit but these idiots need to learn that what you prefer says a lot about your intelligence

We may hate what Bethesda did to Fallout, but saying that fans of F3 & F4 deserve lynching is rather much.
No, it’s not, stop defending these retards, we’ve been too kind to these idiots to let them nest and make their little communities and such. But the second I saw fuckshit 76 I knew we have to stop with the bullshit. We can’t hold any punches back

Dude, chill. Did you just create an account for the sole reason of ranting and damanding the heads of your enemies? That's not what NMA is for... anymore. Mostly.

Except that NMA was already like that once. Hit hard back at folks coming in boasting about how amazing F3 was. Didn't really change much. Going back to that now is pretty pointless. We'd just be regarded as the salty Fallout folk again while the Bethesda community enjoys themselves.

I have no ill will towards people that like Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, but they are at least partially responsible for the state of Fallout currently. A lot of them actively embrace the changes like dumbed down roleplaying elements, very few amount of choices and removal of systems like skill points.

To be fair, i kind of blame Oblivion for how Fallout 3 turned out. Oblivion was really sucessful, so they just decided to jam the design choices of that game into Fallout 3 because of how sucessful Oblivion was.

Turns out that when you ban Helloitme, you also ban thisistoomuchpol. Alt accounts are not tolerated, folks. Especially not when you are just trying to troll.
Thanks @Pariah Dog for pointing that out.

Actually It wasn't Oblivion that started the streamlining, but Morrowind which was heavily streamlined from the elder scrolls II Daggerfall.

The fact that Morrowind saved Bethesda from going bankrupt where they were struggling previously cemented it.

Heavily is debatable as hell and Morrowind was still a RPG, even if removed some stuff from Daggerfall. And some of the stuff removed from Daggerfall can actually be argued why they were removed.

Oblivion was pretty much the deep, dark plummet into casualization for Bethesda because it shares nearly nothing with Morrowind. Morrowind feels like a completely different game compared to Oblivion.

The Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall was trying to be an RPG fantasy simulator a decade before Dwarf Fortress did it. So, actually, when the Elder Scrolls III Morrowind came out, it streamlined the whole character creation system from a system where you could make any kind of character in the context of the gameworld to a simple Fallout esque character creator. The world reaction went from the reputation that Daggerfall used which could be changed through time, quests or other actions became the individual NPC reputation where a lot of your actions through the game could easily be negated through the abuse of the bribe mechanic in it. The main quest became a lot railroaded compared to the one in Daggerfall which was nonlinear and multiple parts changed based on your actions in it. A lot of features like banking, wagons, and climbing were taken out, the whole simulator aspect where you had holidays, winter textures, and attention to detail like spells being limited to a spellbook, gold having weight, and stamina depleting slowly even if you were just standing were taken out.

While true, some of the stuff can actually be debatable like the stamina, gold having weight (this honestly is dumb in any game unless it's in a survival mode) and spells being limited to a spell book.

Morrowind still had stats dictate several outcome like fights and lockpicking, faction reputation dictating how some npcs react to you, actual consequences like killing plot relevant characters means they stay dead and several other things that still make it a RPG. No level scaling meaning you can run into enemies way above your league.

Oblivion has none of this. It has no faction reputation, you can join every faction. Stats no longer dictate the outcome of battles. Enemies scale to your level, meaning no running into stronger enemies. Several spells were removed. Spellmaking was dumbed down heavily. Essential npcs that can't die. Oblivion literally has nothing of what you would call a RPG.

So saying Morrowind is the start of the current state of Bethesda is just flat out false. It has way too many design choices that are no longer used since Oblivion.
