Fallout 2 mod Need a little help to solve my issue

Pan0

First time out of the vault
Hey there,

Old fallout player here getting back into the game, i added the following mods to my game :
- RPU
- Maps updated
- TA and THAT
- Ecco
- Inventory filter
- Fo2 tweak

Everything was going well until i tried to interact with the still in Becky's basement (the Den), the game crash each time and give me a message telling me that the memory couldnt be read from.
I tried finding an answer myself, it seems that this message is pretty common but i did not find any serious solution.

What should i do? Reinstalling game, mods and starting over? Is this going to solve my problem?

I think the problem might be the Fo2 tweak. I have a same exact mod list order except that mod and I didn't had any issues/crashes so far. I am at Vault City right now and done every quest I could in the Den without problems. Since EcCo needs you to have RPU,Maps and the TA and THAT I also installed them and the inventory filter mod is compatible with everything I can only say it must be Fo2 tweaks that overwritten something or has some conflicting files with the others.

Hey, thanks for your answer! I found the link to download the Fo2 tweak on the github ecco page so I want to believe that it should be compatible lol
I finally decided to uninstall and reinstall everything, I kinda messed up the installation of inventory filter last time and had to do it again in the middle of my run so maybe that’s what’s causing this issue I don’t know.
Whatever I’m taking a fresh start, let’s hope it will solve my issue

Ok so I reinstalled everything and started a fresh run, I can interact with the still now but I’m crashing if I tried to search a bookshelf of anything else. Always getting the same message “memory can’t be read from”.

Does anyone has an idea what could be the cause of that? Now it’s not much of a problem as I don’t have much business to do there but I would rather know what’s going on than loosing a run...

Try disabling the inventory filter and disallow unsafe scripting in the sfall ini.

I have a pet theory that that setting corrupts memory in a way that persists in save data. If disabling both it and the inventory filter mod doesn’t fix you save, try starting a new character. edit: and to be especially clear, keep those things disabled.

Unfortunately there’s no movement in the mod community, that I can see, to recognize - or much less address - this increasingly common error.

People who are skilled enough to work with the Sfall code can be counted on one hand. Also it is very hard to debug such issues, especially if no definitive repro exists.

An accurate description of reality does not pass judgment - and neither do I.

Hey, thank you very much for your answer! Your theory might be correct because I did this quest a few days ago on another run and at that time I didn’t have inventory filter...

I’ve done some testing and it seems that I’m getting this error if I enter Becky’s basement, no matter what I do there; even if I don’t interact with anything, I’ll get it after leaving the basement.

So what I’ve done isn’t simply not put a foot in there, I kept playing like normal and everything seems good so far.

Rookie question here but how can I disable a mod playtrough? I’m kinda new to this
