I know this game in and out and I know of this too So I'm afraid that's not the issue. The T-Ray's upgrade was on my car already when I entered the NCR, and there after talking to Ratch about installment of the latest upgrade and leaving map, it dissapeared.

I'm aware of that bug and I'm pretty sure I did the quest that you're referring to, AFTER I "lost" my car. Can you instruct me how exactly can this be done (step-by-step)? I'd be really thankful ;).
