Why there are no ladders in Bethesda/Gamebryo games

'open world' in games refers to one continuous map you can free roam because there is no "walls" around, while RAGE is built from a set of linear levels you travel in between to reach your destination

Why there are no ladders in Bethesda/Gamebryo games

probably to avoid more than one dimension for their terrible path finding. something that any crappy FPS can poll + using dynamic environments for NPCs tactical co-operative planing (using covers, cover each other, flanking etc)

Why there are no ladders in Bethesda/Gamebryo games

its has maps in the open but its not a open world game because the engine is not constructed with open world(one huge map) games in mind.

    SWTOR

as kotor fan i 100% agree that i would prefer it to be a SP RPG game and with the pazaak talk in the other thread, probably we are not the only one. i too think that skotor dosent have much hope of succeeding, only from the opposite reasons, its the shiny cinematic's but the lack of shiny...

    SWTOR

see the timelines, chronicles of the events of the times surrounding the game, filling in some of those gaps in the new unexplored period. (the latest is just released chapter 9 and more will follow) and here is the two amazing cinematic's that both looks amazing, has a ridiculous price tag and...

Fallout: New Vegas QuakeCon previews, #2

do you understand, that i find as much ridiculous unrealistic thing in FO1/2 in its non-continuous gameworld or that we speak about realism vs fun (it is a game after all) and that is part of the constrains we have in an open world. (which is why FOLV will be the same in that npc ratio you...

Fallout: New Vegas QuakeCon previews, #2

^ and here i tough we talked about realism but if you wish to simplify it to NPC vs none hostile NPC's, to win an argument or join the FO3 bashing (which is always fan, only preferably for the right reasons) like i said just like in FO1/2 they had to trade realism for fun and technical...

Fallout: New Vegas QuakeCon previews, #2

so FO1/2 was an action rpg  because i specifically recall the same unrealistic approach described above taken there, you know the 10:1 police to anyone else ratio in NCR for example and its like

Fallout: New Vegas QuakeCon previews, #2

and NCR or vault city  why its so complex to understand that its a balance issue between realism and fun dropping another 200 npc's with no dialogue or the same one will not make it more realistic just annoying same goes for the 1000km2 waste is just not realistic, some things just need...

This whole licensing thing id has done well for years

i think its has nothing to do with "scientific sharing" but an attempt to get more developers to sign with them as their publisher. if it works its nice otherwise they will ony suffer for it as there is many other engines which are more popular (thus much larger third party product...
