    Bethesda: Don't use TES4 engine

    Oh. Sorry.

    Bethesda: Don't use TES4 engine

Understand that from where? The other Fallout fans who always say "Fallout 3 will be Oblivion with guns". I think it's stupid to think that just because it's made by Bethesda, it will be an Oblivion clone. Fallout 3 might and will probably suck for other reasons - disregard of the original...

    Bethesda: Don't use TES4 engine

I'm not going to read that, because it's all based on a misunderstanding. If it uses the Oblivion engine, it doesn't mean it's an Oblivion add-on. There were RTSs which used Oblivion's engine, for fuck's sake. And Bethesda won't make Fallout 3 another TES game, because if they wanted another...

    Fast travel via.... vertibirds?

Another nuclear war, I meant. One that would destroy civilization once again. Since nobody has nuclear tech, and they have experienced it's dangers, it's quite certain that such a war won't happen for a long time.

    Fast travel via.... vertibirds?

Perhaps Fallout 3 should happen around the time of F1 or 2? There's only so much Fallout's universe can stay post-apocalyptic. Fallout 2 already had a republic with 300.000 citizens. Since another war is unlikely at the moment, civilization will be rebuilt in a couple hundreds of years.

Hoax! (The Fake Fallout 3 Screenshots)

On the other hand, those graphics are quite ugly, compared to the two original Fallouts. There's too little detail. I think isometric works much better with 2D graphics.

    The PC Gamer reference...

I wouldn't hold my breath. Considering how much they raped the TES lore with Oblivion, don't expect Fallout 3 to respect Fallout canon either.

    Alternative Perspective

I don't think there are two different videos. But you never see the character from the front, so you can't really be sure it's a female. As for the tanker video, that was preety nice. I guess there's something appealing about these "You restore an old vehicle and use it to go forth" videos.

We did see the sky, in the ending clips: http://falloutvault.com/index.php?title=Image:Shady.jpg http://falloutvault.com/index.php?title=Image:Ncr.jpg Looks preety normal.

 You miss it, so how about you hit something else? Sander, the eyes are just above the center of the face. Sure, there should be a lower chance - like 65 vs. 90, but not worse.

    Ethnicity

Oh, and by the way. In TES, Redguards (blacks, arabs) are physically stronger, while Bretons (whites) are smarter.

    Alternative Perspective

"X was hit in the eyes for 8 points" isn't a hit in the eyes? And why would a shot in the eyes be a lot less likely to hit than a shot in the head?

    Alternative Perspective

Oh, and about targeted shots, there was one thing that didn't make sense. Shooting in the eyes was either hit the eyes or miss completly. Isn't it likely that a shot in the eyes by a somewhat experienced guy will end up in the head instead? So I think eyes should be removed as a target, and...

The Forests in Oblivion, The Wastes in Fallout

It didn't really feel boring at the beggining, and by the time it did, you could easily use fast travel methods. But again, it's a subjective matter.

The Forests in Oblivion, The Wastes in Fallout

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. However, if we take Morrowind as an example: the first journey on foot you had to make, from Seyda Neen to Balmora, was 10-15 minutes long. Still, it felt long, and you never really noticed that those town were basically next to one another. Similarily, walking...

Huh? Fallout - September 30, 1997 Half Life - November 20, 1998 So 1 year and 2 months later. Nevertheless, Half Life was a FPS, so graphics were much more important then they were in Fallout. And Fallout 2 was almost as much of a new game as Fan Made Fallout is. Not really, I've never...

    Alternative Perspective

You don't use the menu too often outside combat anyway. And for the rare cases when you do, a button for bringing it up should do. As for walking around a city, I meant actually filming from his viewpoint. With first person, you can go into a lot of detail. With third, such detail is...

The Forests in Oblivion, The Wastes in Fallout

Fallout was a good experience. I just think making travel as I said would improve the experience. Still, it's a matter of personal preference. As for scaling, things were already scaled down. I can't remember 3000 NPCs in NCR. Nor 1000 NPCs in Vault 13, 1000 people in Vault City, etc. But...

    Alternative Perspective

Fallout 1 and 2 had great combat, due to all the options that were available. To support that many options, the game had to be point and click, and the combat turn based. Turn based combat is hard to do right with a non-isometric perspective. Also, the technology of that time didn't allow...

The Forests in Oblivion, The Wastes in Fallout

So you'd rather see a little dot travel across a map of the wasteland, rather than your character travel across a miniature version of the wasteland. Especially when everything else is scaled down, as I've said before.
