    Easter eggs in mods

Fallout 1's Easter Eggs (the special encounters, anyway) were all focused on the 50s and 60s, though there were some maller in-jokes that were more up-to-date. Fallout 2, however, didn't care.

Didn't Banksy do the "One Nation under CCTV" one as well?

Thank you Sander, once again you help to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Realms Of The Haunting. EDIT: Let's see if this works. EDIT: Removed image inadvertently advertising piracy. That site does not allow hotlinking.-Sander

    What game was this?

That may be an Amiga game, but those are PC EGA screenshots. I think the bartender is the key here. I recall seeing adverts for a game around 1990 that featured someone who was very similar in appearance. Also, I think the colour blue is involved somewhere.

Not only is that Laser Squad, it's the Spectrum version of it.

    Team Fortress 2

Or the Backburner. Or the Blütsauger. But strangely enough, not the Huntsman. You don't notice it right now with everybody playing Soldier and Demoman, but the Huntsman is the most overpowered weapon in TF2 today, to the point of being outright broken. For one, it has a huge hitbox...

    Team Fortress 2

That's the first thing they'll nerf about the Targe: You're not supposed to be able to cap points, grab intelligence or push the cart while under "special" attributes such as the Targe's charge. And the sword will be nerfed as well, in no way should anyone be able to swing a sword that big as...

    Team Fortress 2

Where? On the Steam forums? In an old blog post? I'm one of those that rarely visit the Steam forums (for obvious reasons) and it's only recently that I started reading the TF2 blog. So yeah, off guard. I'm certain that I'm not the only one either. And just to keep it straight, I have the...

    Team Fortress 2

rcorporon: I know your pain about the Scout. There's nothing worse in TF2 than meeting two good Scout players working together. As for the crafting stuff...I've been discarding all the surplus stuff I have gotten, so this catches me a bit off-guard. And despite my way-too-long playing times...

    Team Fortress 2

Nah, it's just hell. About 80% of every team now is either Demos or Soldiers, with every single Medic on the team being praised like a god. You're lucky if you can find an Engineer. And these two classes are the last classes in TF2 that need an update, and they certainly don't need an...

Brother None counts down his favourite games

Then make your written words more clear in the future. Saying that a game has a "not good" impact upon the gaming industry is a term that is open to interpretation. I reached one conclusion, while you hide behind another. Especially since your conclusion is an opinion, barely backed up by facts...

Brother None counts down his favourite games

I have to agree with alec here. Dungeon Master's impact upon the gaming world was big back in the day. It was hailed as an instant classic. For roughly 4 years it was the supreme king of "RPG's utilizing a first-person perspective", or until Eye Of The Beholder came along. In fact, Dungeon...

Brother None counts down his favourite games

BN: I can see where you're coming from when you list Rick Dangerous for its graphics, controls and "little touches", but in my opinion that doesn't help save the game from total obscurity where it rightly belongs. It's a gigantic memory test with no margin for error. That may have been par for...

Dragula's one is Chip's Challenge. EDIT: One of my screenshots was unguessed, so I'll just spoil it now and say it was Interphase. Give me a sec to dig up a screenshot from something.

Your favorite TV show intro sequence

The good ones I've seen here are The Prisoner, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Wonder Years and Get Smart. Most of the others are OK, but the Sonic one made me cringe. Sorry mate, but it's Bad. When I have time later I'll post some intros I think are good, but in the meantime here's one I'm...

    Oddworld - The Oddbox

I tried playing the first Oddworld when it was new. The story and characters were interesting, but I felt the gameplay was stupidly hard for no reason. Console-like savepoints did not help with that. But maybe I felt that way because I went down on the first screen and not to the right as I...
