    Spore

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but Gamespot has a report on Will Wright giving a speech at the GDC titled: "Why I Get Obsessed with My Game Design Research." He talks mostly about inspiration for his games, mainly Spore. Pretty interesting stuff. Linkage.

    Shadowrun

I have a copy of the ROM for the SNES if anyone desperately needs it. Wait, piracy shouldn't be discussed here... Uh oh. (/Runs from the almighty admins)

    Oblivion out today

And thus, it sounds like utter crap. But this is why they'll stay in business. (Okay, so I watch Attack of the Show; they do occasionally have some cool people on.) Retards like that (who probably own the X360 to begin with; hence, retards) will buy this game BECASUE ITS SOOO KEWL! The...

    Black

I heard it was very generic, so meh. To be expected from console shooters.

V For Vendetta out this week!

I saw it few hours ago, and thought it was an excellent movie, but many of the reviews I'm seeing online seem to hate it with a passion (one such review even claimed it was pro-terrorist!). I don't see why; I agree with KQX and Simple Minded about the movie. I've never read the novel, but I'm...

    Question about DOS games.

I'm having a problem running a DOS game too. Although it also supports Win 95, I'm trying to run it through DOS box. So far, all I've done is get the intro movie to load. After it plays that, it crashes. The game in question is X-Com: Apocalypse and it also needs the CD to run (I think). I...

    More web-comic goodness

Glad we cleared that up. Why is it when I hear that, I think of the PIPBoy and Fallout Boy fighting each other to Star Trek fight music? I need help.

    More web-comic goodness

We have to set the record straight on this some time on exactly what that guy is called. I guess Fallout Boy is probably the most accurate, but I often refer to him as the Pip Boy (since his image is right on the device). I'll fix it for you then: Well, my personal opinion on...

    Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords

I don't think 4X games have ever had strong campgains before. I'd rather just stick with the freeform (non-story) game anyways; that's why I loved Master of Orion so much (along with Space Empires IV, but that's much harder).

    Trusty weapon

Weapon tracking would be a good idea for computer RPGs that aren't based on PnP-type rules. Having a 'trusty weapon' doesn't really fit into PnP games at all. For example, let's say you are carrying two spears that are exactly the same, and you've been using one more than the other. By your...

Douglas Goodall: Behind the scenes of Morrowind

Pre-ordered? Man, you must be really optimistic or really foolish. Well, I guess Oblivion could turn out to be a decent game, but a really horrible roleplaying experience (if there's any roleplaying to speak of).

I'd rather play Russian roulette with six bullets.

    Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords

I love 4X games, and this looks like a great one. Gamespot had some interesting things to say about the ship creator: They also said somewhere that there's no polygon limit to ship designing. I'll pick this game up as soon as I have the money.

    Trusty weapon

Well, seeing as how BIS was American, that's a given.

    Trusty weapon

I smell a banning. And yes, Fallout is 50's sci-fi with PnP mechanics. As if anyone else needed to confirm this. Hell, as if anyone needed to argue that point period.

    The IT Crowd

The creator of the UK edition of The Office (Asha Atalla) has created a new series called "The IT Crowd" that deals with IT. The six episode series are availible from the offical site, and only if you are in the UK. However, you can find the episodes out of the UK here. If that doesn't work...
