Welsh, in my experience beagles are dumb, egotistical little attention whores and not very good with children. Labs are awesome dogs, 'tho. Not too smart but very loyal, playful and obedient. Retrivers are nice, too, they can be pretty smart and good with kids. Dogs are awesome.
