Good news! I just spent way too much on games. I bought the Strategy First pack, Ultimate Doom, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30.

Well I wouldn't call companions a series staple. In fact I recall that they were a last second addition to Fallout 1.

Really? I've heard Supreme Commander is kind of unoriginal garbage. Of course this was told to me by a friend who has odd game tastes but whatever.

I dunno, I have doubts. Looks like it's just GTA/Mercenaries with a God of War type battle mechanic. I could be wrong, but I'll wait until some clear gameplay footage is released or better yet some decent reviews.

Is the Strategy First pack worth picking up? It's only 50 dollars, and I enjoyed Jagged Alliance 2 a lot.

I own one. Short Answer: No Long Answer: Still no. Just aren't enough good games or features to warrant buying one. There are some solid games for it (Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2 are awesome and Jeanne D'Arc is pretty good), but it's kind of a dead system.

Don't mention Hellgate. Oh the hopes I did have for that game. Dashed and swept away by the wind. I had some fun with it, but since the server closure I haven't played it.

Same happened with me. Heard about Fallout 1 and 2 as a result of three, love them, despise 3.

Because the character builds in Fallout 1 are far different from each other. You can get a lot of different things happening and methods of beating the game from changing your build. You can have a dumb guy run through, you can try for a no kill game, you could try to play as a charismatic...

You can uninstall and renistall Steam games as much as you want to. And you keep save games as I was plesantly surprised to see when I was having problems with Steam and had to renistall. I like having a physical copy and a nice manual, but Steam is just really convenient.
