I think a random encounter might be causing the game to crash because the red cursor blinks like a random encounter is about to start up then it crashes.

Weird it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore it seems to only happen during the beginning of the game and disappears later. I had the same problem last year on my old PC as well.

Okay I'll try it and see if it fixes the issue, my game will also crash when planting explosives sometimes too. Also do you know about the exploit where you can reverse pickpocket Mrs. stapleton with dynamite kill her and steal all her books!

Apple makes nice monitors but they're often overpriced and cheaper brands such as Dell or Asus often sell cheaper just as good monitors.

I've seen alot of Fallout fan sites saying the opposite about the gog version of Fallout 1 and 2. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fallout_2 I have the Steam versions and have had no problems so far though.

When I first seen it hurt my eyes. edit: I've also found quite a bit of Vanilla grammar errors that I might correct and upload for intelligent characters.

There's nothing else you can really do to make this game look any better, I'm afraid. Back when this game was made in 1998 640x480 was one of the highest resolutions available at the time. So when you increase the resolution to 16:9 16:10 you can really see the small imperfections in games back...
