I'd like to annouce my weapon mod for Fallout 2.

So, here it is - .45 ACP Weapon Mod For Fallout 2 v.1.0 Final

All introduced weapons have new inventory pictures and new desriptions,
some of them have altered stats.

Ammo:

14mm replaced by .45 cal AP
(can be used with all .45 caliber weapons)


Other changes:

All dialogues regarding weapon uprades are changed to fit
the new weapons.

- Added M56 Smart Gun as a replacemnt for Bozar
- Added a patch 1.051 compatibility
- Tweaked 9mm S&W and H&K UMP SMG for proper (higher) AP usage
- Corrected various spelling mistakes (not all af them apparently... Grrrrrr)
- Improved documentation (inluding this awfully long readme)

Okay, just reading the documentation I have one question about this:
I also converted 14mm ammo to .45 caliber type rounds so things fit together.
.45 caliber ammo already exists in the game. So what exactly did you replace 14mm ammo with?

I am a bit disappointed that you didn't remove the ridiculous Bozar. Switching the Jackhammer to Striker or USAS-12 was another thing I was half expecting to see.
 
So what does the thompson and grease gun use if there wasn't .45 caliber ammo already in FO2?

.45 ACP, could you post a list of changes or the read me in full, for those of us who like to know what they are downloading (beforehand) or those of us who prefer to wait for the finished product?

I converted 14mm rounds into a new .45cal type ammo - a .45 Cal AP, so it fits all weapons that use that kind of bullets. I'm pretty sure that there are few enemies you encounter who use a 14mm Pistol, and without this little adjustemnt they would be left with one clip.
Looks like I need to improve a documentacion a bit.

Believe me, I was really tempted to replace that weird thing which Bozar is. It looks much like a Barrett (an American .50 cal anti-material sniper rifle), even from reading a text of a description you get the feeling it is a sort of a sniper rifle. However, as we all know, it is not.
Initially I wanted to replace it with a Smart Gun from Aliens but all photos i could find looked pretty crappy in an inven frame. I also figured that despite the Bozar weirdness many people consider it as their favourite weapon.

Regarding Jackhammer and CAWS, well neither of them was a succesful desing and both projects were halted long time ago. Replacing one of them (or both) with an existing weapon is a very good idea and USAS-12 and Striker just might do the trick, thanks.

I don't know if I would call them unsuccessful designs. Seems to me that the big problems were with financing and marketing the products.

Well, that's why I called them unsuccessful, as in terms of the actual desing both of them were quite revolutionary.

OK, here are the news.

The final version is coming along nicely. The documentation will be corrected and improved. There also will be a Polish language version of the mod released. However, the major change will be a replacement for Bozar (The new weapon is being field tested as we speak). I also may consider replacing Jackhammer with one of automatic shotguns which were manufactured in greater number than just few working prototypes.

You`re not alone with your opinion. ;) "Someone" is making it now...
 
Having a problem here. I installed this mod on a fresh and patched (US 1.02) version of FO2. It worked well, but I decided to remove it and try something else.

So I uninstalled FO2 and went back and removed all the leftover data files and save games. I then installed a freshly patched copy of the game in preparation to play other mods. Right after installation of the game, however, I noticed that the icon for FO2 was still that bearded-glasses guy. I then uninstalled again, removing all leftover files, and re-installed anew. It was still there. So, figuring what the hell, I went ahead and started playing with another mod. The Ultimate Warfare mod to be exact. Well anyway, after several hours of playing and saving, I opened the game after a break to find that all the weapon names/descriptions had reverted back to this .45 ACP mod (not pictures), AND my main save-game slot had reverted back to my last save WHEN I WAS PLAYING the .45 ACP mod.

This seems impossible, as I deleted that save-game and the entire install of FO2 from that time. I've reinstalled FO2 multiple times now and that same bearded-glasses guy's face is still my .exe icon. I don't want to start another game for fear of a repeat. What on earth is going on here? How can I get rid of your mod, .45?
