99 Awesome screenshots from the Wasteland

The deceptive thing is that when you walk in 3rd perspective it does not look good. But indeed, the screens look good.

My pipboy does not look like that. I only see the text part

The game has gotten too much flack for what Bethesda supposedly got wrong, but one thing they got right was the look of the game, the depths of the details.

Do you want me to post 99 pictures of the game on ultra, showing off the 1998 textures?

I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't exactly call those screenshots good looking. One thing that immediately caught my eye is the screenshot with the "Scenic Overlook" thingimajig, where you put all these items on top of a rock. Those items seem to float a little above the rock. They lack shadows (and if they do have shadows - I'm too lazy to scroll back up - they lack them where they should have them). Also: everything looks jagged. And the colours are butt-ugly. I've seen better stuff during the nineties.

Also: posting 99 screenshots in a row is a bit overkill, wouldn't you say so?

Only NPCs have shadows, and you're correct that 9/10 items float a few inches above where they're placed.

It gets really interesting when you phys grab or take one of them; as it jars every nearby item and sends them either clipping through the ground, or shooting across the room.

Wow, how do you get your pipboy to look like that? That's cool.

Nice screens, but I have to agree with alec, I've seen much better.

The other problem is that while the game may look good in screenshot form, once you see it animated, it looks like ass.

the uniform ambient lighting without shadows is the biggest flaw in the look department
- it looks quite bad in mid day or at night

its understandable for such a huge world with a day/night cycle (but then again stalker has all the shadows at the high quality settings)

some textures are quite bad, with overdone dirt/stain and no fidelity... but thats a minor gripe

Are all those textures blurred??

What kind of an ass?

Yep they captured the feel just right (imo - better write this acronym before some of them jump at me eh?), some good screens you've got there. Might post some up when I cba.

Dude, why the heck would one post 99 screencaps at once? We've all seen enough of this game already.

Hmm, my post didn't go through it seems.
Hint: if your posts get vatted, you're doing it wrong. Reposting is a bad idea.

Very nice shots, just some advice: Enable Antialiasing at least at 2x.
And if I were you, I would probably consider buying a new video card.

For all you other guys: This game actually has good graphics.
Even the animations are superb, unlike Morrowind.

^ I'll take the graphics statement, but not the animations. Animations are 80% shit, 20% good. Some textures are obviously too low quality, with stark difference to HQ textures for, say, weapons. Also, floating characters and objects, and frozen facial animations are pretty much unforgivable. But yes, FO3 can look pretty at times, especially the outdoors. The indoors is meh.

VTM:Bloodlines had better and more facial animations than Beth's FO3.

I like the graphics in FO3, liked them from the beggining, but the textures and lack of shadows make it look unfinished (like a beta test version).

Those certainly are screenshots of Fallout 3. Not amazing looking, nothing exciting happening in them, and no captivating scenery. Any particular reason why you posted 99 uninteresting screenshots?
