A few questions about Fallout1 *SPOILERS*

First time out of the vault
Hi all,

I'm currently re-playing FO1 for the 527th time and have a few questions that Id love to know the answers to:

* Is there any way to open the door thats to the far top right corner on the first floor of The Glow (as in the first floor you get to once climbing down the rope) Its a small room that seems to have items in but there are two doors blocking access, and the first is jammed.

* Is there any way to talk the women guarding the weapons room at Vault 13 into letting you re-supply/raid the weapons room?

* And is there any way to recharge those cloaking devices? I always assumed they were a one use then throw away item, but thought Id check anyway.

* And with the new NPC mods, is it possible to get all the NPCs into the Cathedral dressed in robes? or do they still count as wearing normal clothes to the other characters?

* And finally whats the point of the woman in the Cathedral with the talking head? every time Ive ever played the game she has little or nothing to say, seems like a bit of a waste of a talking head.

Thanks to anyone who can answers these few questions.

Yes, I have done it, I think so long ago :P. Just go in there druing guard change was it, or during the thief mission.

Not that I know of. They where cool, but I never really used them.

* And finally whats the point of the woman in the Cathedral with the talking head? every time Ive ever played the game she has little or nothing to say, seems like a bit of a waste of a talking head.

Maby the devs had plans for her, but they did not finish it up :P

You're talking about the priestess in the Hub's church right?

If you choose the correct dialog options (convincing her you want to join the CotC) you'll get a huge amount of info about them, and she wont be pissy whenever you talk to her in the future.

Besides that, I don't think she serves any other purpose.

Nope - he's talking about the lass in the real Cathedral. Her name is Nicole. She's not what she seems is all I'll say. Talk to the folks in the Followers of the Apocalypse and she'll suddenly become much more interesting...

As far as I can remember you can use small energy cell to recharge it.

I thought I replied to this, but it didn't show up for some reason.

The door in the Glow is stuck, but can be forced open if you're strong enough.

The guard will let you into the weapon room if you find the right dialogue path and have decent Speech. It may take a few tries.

Stealth boys, motion sensors, and geiger counters cannot be recharged. Once the batteries are drained, they're junk. Maximum charge is 100 for stealth boys, 150 for motion sensors, 200 for geiger counters.

Laura (woman in the Cathedral) becomes much more helpful if you take the right dialogue path when talking to Nicole (of the Followers)

ENGLISH_BL0KE, in those 526 previous times, how much did your characther vary ?

playing differnt type characthers makes a HUGE differnce because stats affect a LOT of what you can do ingame.

Thanks for the replies Kanhef, thats all very helpful information :-)

I just completed the game the non violent way 'Glowing Ghouls' for the first ever time, so it just goes to show there are still things I haven't seen in the game, despite playing it so many times.

Ive just started playing BOS:Tactics now, the controls will take a long time to get used to. Its a shame they didn't just make fallout 3 instead :-)

Craptics coulda been an OK game but they decided to make it a fallout game.

Personaly I find it totaly not worth playing unless moded heavily, simply because its so annoying stock.

No, her name is Laura. You have to give her the password from Nicole... Nicole is the green haired woman who leads the Followers of the Apocalypse.

See the "Talking Heads" stuff => HERE

You're talking about the priestess in the Hub's church right?

As regards that one, her name is "Jane".

Actually her name is JAIN ....

But now I'm just being pedantic ....

Yet another Eastern influence in Fallout.

Buy yes, you're totally right - she is called Laura - you can chat her up, you can enlist her help, you can even buy flowers from her if I recall correctly.

(I know it says she's called Jane in that page you linked but that is wrong! Look in game or in Per's guide. Honest)

/me runs off to write a post in the website bit reporting such an error!
