Here's a prediction of the future from a board vet. There are always idiots hanging around making stupid posts. For a while, it was this, for a while it was that, for a while it was "I found the holy hand grenade!" (anyone else who remembers the great B.O.S. Steel Knight conflict, give me some support here), now it's "wouldn't it be cool if Fallout 3 was online/first-person/multiplayer/etc." I have a feeling that as soon as Fallout 3 is out (whenever that might be...), we'll be getting posts on the new Fallout 3 Forum from idiots, claiming they've done things they can't do, or found things they can't find. I wouldn't be suprised if people will start claiming to have found the holy hand grenade again. So Rosh, Shadowman, MatriX, and everyone else who wants to keep the boards free of idiots trying to spread their idiocy, get ready. We'll have a lot of work to do.

Hmpf, the problem is that the developers of games seem to listen more to these idiots then the the people who want to keep the games atmosphere and gameplay safe so that the game will still be something that is enjoyable and will not ruin the continuity of the storyline.

Storyline? Who cares about storyline?

I say why not F*** every game up with a sequel that is made to appeal to more people? Forget about storyline, let's just have games that appeal to everyone! Think about it, if Fallout 3 had a supermarket where people could buy goods over the internet, then more people would buy it. It could be sold as a game but with an e-commerce part for people who want that.

Also, why not add in a 3d driving simulator in Fo3 as well? Ala NFS. Fallout cops could be after you etc....

And why not have a 3d FPS part as well? I mean sure, the game would be a little bit of everything and would not succeed particularly well at any one of those, but hey, at least it'd sell more copies....

And selling more copies is the only thing people who are 'employed' think about. Most of the managers/mareters in game companies are under pressure to give a big green light to the games that will sell more. That way, they keep their jobs and the compnay makes money.

Of course, nobody figured out that... IT DOESN'T WORK!!! THE BEST-SELLING GAMES OF ALL TIME HAVE NOT BEEN POOR IMITATIONS!! THEY HAVE BEEN ORIGINAL IDEAS.

* The Sims
* Civilization
* Wolfenstein 3d
* Command & Conquer (or whichever came before it... dune I think? All the rest are half-arsed imitiations... Except Starcraft :) )
