What Soviet bunkers? Abandoned living blocks? What fell apart?
Strictly speaking, bunkers* in Poland were either built by the Polish army or by the nazis during the occupation. Hitler's HQ is in northern Poland, near a town called Kostrzyn. After the Russkies "Liberated" Poland, they didn't build Russki bunkers. The bunkers and missile installations were all made by The army of People's Republic of Poland (PRL), called LWP.
*bunkers as in post WW1. There are a lot of Russian fortifications dating from the 19th Century all over the place. My school is located in such a thing, and incidentally, Wajda's filming a new movie there.
As for the old villages, they look like villages. Nothing intrinsically post-apocalyptic in an old Polish village, unless your idea of post-apoc are asbestos roofs and crumbling wood planks amidst the mooing of cows and tacky techno music.
What living blocks? I never heard of a whole special town built and then abandoned near the border to Germany, and it sounds a bit suspicious to me, especially since East Germany was also Communist at the time, and the big policing took place over there, at the border with the "free" world.
Got any, like, proofs? The names of the mysterious Soviet bunkers no-one in Poland ever heard of, and the border police ghost town? Pics?
