Afterfall aiming for... 10 million preorders?

coliphorbs

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Afterfall InSanity pre-order is being offered for $1. If they reach 10 million preorders, the full price of the game will stay at $1, and they will send the earnings to charity.

Uhhh.. Okay. This is a very big "If", and given their track record this is almost as absurd as your common Nigerian prince scam. To clarify: If they don't hit their 10 million mark (yeah okay), those $1 preorders will still go to charity, but you will have to pay the full price for the game itself.... at a $1 discount, if you pre-ordered.

You can see the pre-order count in their website: http://www.afterfall-universe.com

Afterfall... why is that title so familiar?

The charity wouldn't happen to be the Human Fund would it?

This game used to look promising ages ago, sad to see they dropped all their original (and overambitious) ideas and made a generic third person shooter.

Hah! I am not even sure if there are 10 million people who know what Afterfall is.

But there will be a ton more after the campaign due to this, which is the point.

You really think that that counter is actual pre-orders and not those guys typing the numbers in to show that people are supposedly pre-ordering in thousands? There are may be more pre-orders because of this but not a ton more, unless they somehow tapped into a massive retard forum somewhere.

Good lord! That looks even lamer than that Afterfall: Insanity video I saw a couple of months ago.

Burn it...WITH FIRE!

I don't think even Oblivion sold more than 10 million. I wonder why these guys didn't announce this thing as some sort of april fools joke or something. It would have gathred more attention that way.

But it does provide a possible explanation for why there's anyone at all pledging their single dollar.

I doubt that over 15 thousand people actually did though, for such an unknown project and developer. These guys are full of shit.

It was front page news on a lot of gaming sites.

I can imagine a bunch of people going 'Cool, I could get this for a dollar!' and running with it.

These guys are full of shit.

Oh, most definitely.

Yea, it's a clever marketing idea, but come on, ten million? I could see that being challenging even for more popular gaming series.

Unless every person who preorders it, preorders ten copies.
