Afterfall: InSanity NMA preview

Given the recent release of the Afterfall: InSanity demo, we have decided to provide the community with a preview, based on said demonstration version:
Contrary to expectations, the writing is competent. It isn't exactly the apex of character design or plot craftsmanship, but it works well. As long as we ignore the fact that a psychiatrist is bashing open the heads of his former coworkers with an axe (although that might be because he himself is insane; it remains to be seen if the authors decided to use this potential plot thread) and the quite cheesy rationale for sending Tokaj off on what's possibly a suicide mission. The demo concludes the first portion before anything really interesting happens, but opens several plot threads and leaves the player curious, which is always a good sign.

Surprising to hear it's basically good. Will give the demo a spin. It'd be kind of cool if this whole sordid history ends up leading to a decent game.

All I'm interested in, if it eventually spawns the isometric RPG they've promised us for years now.

A very good article from Tagaziel, though.

After reading this, I'm actually getting interested in this game. I'm not a fan of Dead Space, but this seems decent enough to give it a try, if for anything, it's because of that non-Americano style.

I'd probably give this game a try if I saw some evidence they were still working on that RPG

Tagaziel, I liked your(p)review, so I downloaded and tried the demo.
I have to say, I expected something much worse, probably because my opinion was based on negative rumors...

Then again, the slow installation didn't get me in a good mood, but once I tried the game itself it seemed decent enough for me. Problem is, I didn't even like Dead Space, so I'm not the best judge here, I guess.

Nevertheless Afterfall:Insanity looks good enough for me, maybe I could enjoy it even more than Dead Space (which I didn't finish - I can't stand a camera angle like the one in that game, ugh), but the whole 1 $ deal was really ridiculous - and now they ask 35 bucks for the finished product.

I expect the retail version to have improved animations and nonesuch, though, can anyone confirm that?
