Alternate F1 endgame question

Guess I should start by stating that this is a *very* minor thing at best. I'm asking about it just because it's bugging the hell out of me that I can't figure it out. Been working on F1 mods for quite awhile now (none ready for any kind of release) and probably got about half the scripting figured out (I'm definitely not a natural).

Anyway, what I am currently attempting is an alternate method of continuing the game. The idea is that instead of being instantly teleported to the Vault 13 entrance after destroying the Master and the Vats, the player would have to physically walk there before the game ends.

I've picked apart every script I can find that might have to do with it. The common element seems to be a "metarule(13, 0)" which apparently starts the endgame. So far I've found this in CHILDRN1, MBENT, and OBJ_DUDE. Modified, commented out, messed around with global variables, started about a dozen new games, and basically irritated the living hell out of myself. Zero effect.

SO... any ideas? If it's impossible, it's not a big screaming deal and I've more or less dropped it already. I'm only asking just because I *hate* things I can't figure out.

It *is* possible to continue the game, you just need to have like 80 APs to walk out of the cave.



Anyway, It would be nice if there was a box like the one in FO2 that asks you if you'd like to keep playing after the movie and slideshow plays.
 
There is such an endgame patch in the downloads section, although I'm not sure how compatible it is with the TeamX 1.3.2 patch and NPC mod I like to use. If anybody knows, I'd be grateful for the information.

*sigh* I hate talking about my mod projects because I usually work alone and in my spare time, and I don't like announcing something that turns out to be vaporware, y'know? But anyway...

My current undertaking is tentatively called Aftermath (80% still in research stage). The idea is to be able to revisit places and get new content. Followers/BoS spreading the word about your destruction of the Master and the Vats - OR finding dead towns a la Necropolis if you didn't beat the time deadlines. A couple ideas in my noggin (that would be complete bitches to pull off but could be cool) would be an opportunity to help a town fight off an invasion and an encounter with some newly lost and masterless supermutants (kill 'em, laugh at them, or take pity and find them a place to settle).

All of this would work with the existing endgame mod of course, it would just seem a bit more seamless if you could avoid the automatic teleportation to V13 at the end.

Has anybody played with the Endgame mod along with the TeamX contributions? Compatible? Semi? Not?

No, the Endgame mod should be incompatible with TeamX patch.
As far as I remember I did make a lot of changes, added new global variables, changed many scripts, etc. TeamX patch was released much later and I never really got around to update my mod to accomodate it.
