Annoying Companion Glitch

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Well, i'm going straight to the point: For some reason the game thinks ED-E is with me, and actually says he's somewhere on the map, whenever I go to said point on map he isn't actually there. I still get dialogue from people like, "I could fix that robot problem for you, just saying", even though he isn't actually with me. This is stopping me from doing Honest Hearts and going into Caesar's Tent, my guess is that he was my companion then glitchy stuff happened to him. Anyway, any of you guys have a solution to this problem, btw, i'm on PS3 if that makes it any easier.
 
Actually waiting? Because i've been questing and doing stuff for more than four days while he's been staying in the same place, but i'll try it out.
 
I think the solution to this is to go use the Vault 22 elevator and he's supposed to spawn next to you but I've never had this problem so I can't say if it works or not.
 
I tried both at same time, he didn't appear next to me, but the message for "ED-E has returned to Primm. You have lost ED-E's Enhanced Sensors Perk."
