Any good free games for Android?

I've recently came into possession of one of those Android tablets, or whatever's the name. I've personally never intended to get one, but it was a gift, so that's about that.
In any case, I'm new to this whole thing. The touch screen. The Android OS. And so on.

Anyway, are there any good free games for this?
Something that's not too casual (like those Temple Run stuff). I imagine there's not 4X games exactly, but that would serve me better.
 
Well, without knowing exactly what you've got, or what kind of games you enjoy, I'd say go for Pixel Dungeon. Hard-as-nails free rogue-like that had me coming back for more every time.

If you're looking for something with a little more polish, Galaxy On Fire 2 HD is also free.

Your best bet would be to load up your Google Play app and have a look.

**EDIT** 4x? Hmm, Cory Trese made a bunch of lightweight strategy games, usually paid-for but with a free "lite" version. There's an Android port of Freeciv (the freeware Civiliation clone) and Freecol (Colonization) available on the Google Play store for free. Controls aren't too bad on my tiny phone, so I suspect they'd work just fine on a tablet.

Personally, I'd spring for Shadowrun Returns. I also hear that XCOM is being ported to Android in the future. Finally, don't forget that Baldur's Gate remaster is now available for the Android platform. I know you said "free", but these games are worth the paltry price.

How much do you get out of the battery while playing games? How do the touch controls feel?
