Any PHP3 wizards here?

Yes, I've finally given up on CGI and have started with PHP3. Now, I have managed to get the script to load on the page fine, but when I execute the script, this happens:

Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function mysql_pconnect() in /web/sites/13/smackrazor/www.smackrazor.f2s.com/phpPolls/phpPollAdmin.php3 on line 199


Any idea what happened? It is a script for a poll. I'm not sure if it is f2s itself messing up or just me. I did follow the readme exactly though.

I don't know much about this stuff but I do know that a lot of free site providers don't support php.
 
F2S does, but they run it in safe mode only.

Is f2s a good provider? 50megs.com is getting on my nerves with their stupid banner.
 
It's only 20 megs, supports MS frontpage etc and no banners.

I've been trying to create a new server with them for over a month now.

Theres gotta be another good free server somewhere. Geocities sucks 50megs.com has horrible banners tripods slow fortunecitys slow xooms got a banner at the top. I can't think of anymore off the top of my head. There has to be one.
 
ProHosting.

- Fifty megs of free space.
- FTP account.
- Runs CGI / SSI scripts.

As far as I remember it was amazing because there was absolutely no form of advertising on the site. But then my FTP account stopped working and they wouldn't answer my emails. I dunno if they have advertisements now.

Unfortunately they now have pop up ads but thats still better than having a monstrous banner in my navbar. I'll probably switch over soon. Thanks for the info.
 
OK then they have popups AND banners. I'll stick with where I am.

I wish some millionaire was just really nice and set up a free no-ad web hosting service that offered unlimited space.

No no, no dream...

www.stas.net offer unlimited free no banner web hosting. The only thing is that you have to have all your stuff in a folder (www.stas.net/yourname), and crosswinds does the same (www.crosswinds.net I think).

Stas.net has a file limit of 200K. I tried crosswinds but they were very slow.

Last time I checked mine it was 999999k.

I was sure it was 200K but I went into their tersm to check and here is what it said

Only the files less that 5MB in size is allowed for uploads. No larger files are allowed to be uploaded to your account.

BTW I've got a new beta of netscape6 your site still doesn't work.

I read a review of netscape 6 and msie5 is still more compliant with the DOM. So I'll probably make it in Flash 4 or 5 (depending when Flash 5 will come out).

It might be compatible when its finished it is still a beta after all.
