Anyone played the quest mods for Fallout 4?

I'm kinda sorta thinking of reinstalling Fallout 4. Now the base game can go fuck itself, maybe I'll like Far Harbor. But how are the quest mods, the companions? I hear good things about Fusion City, Valkerie, America Rising and Maxwell's World, I just don't know if they are enough to suffer through Fallout 4's wasted non-city state world. I find the gameplay loop boring and repetitive, but isn't the explore combat loot cycle at the heart of New Vegas gameplay too? If it is, I barely noticed it, and Fallout 4 can be salvaged in theory

Thing is I'm upset about the lack of choices, and the shit writing, but the thing I'm actually salty about is that there are no truly civilized or modern settlements. No Tenpenny Tower, no Vault City, no San Francisco, not even a Hub. If mods add in a modern, well-kept settlements full of characters and things to do I will give Fallout 4 another go.

I recommend checking Alchestbreach on Youtube as he played all of them.
But here's my experience:

America Rising- I enjoyed it less than the New Vegas Enclave mod. When I played AR it wasn't finished yet, so I can't talk about the ending.

Maxwell's World- mod is very fun, but has tons of problems. Triggers don't work, dialogue options don't appear. I've had to use setstage 3 times. It might have been fixed from the time I played.

Fusion City/ Valkyrie- mods are really well made, voice actors are really great but I didn't like the overabundance of sexual stuff, for example

I liked most of the side writing, but the main writing feels a bit edgy and try-hard, when for example compared with Belthan's mods about running a brothel or strip club.

One mod you didn't mention that I recommend is Tales from the Commonwealth. It's a really well made quest pack made by Interesting NPCs team. It uses vanilla voice lines for protagonist and the most important thing has many choices (every quest offers at least 2, but most have 3 and more). There is a lot of content, not only quests but also activities like an auction house and several new random encounters.
