I guess most of you know already, but Arcanum modder Drog Black Tooth has done some great work lately in making Arcanum patches. Its great that finally arcanum gets patch attention being the last one of the holy trio that needed it.

Fallout gets covered by teamX
Fallout 2 gets covered by Killap
Planescape got covered by Platter
and now finally:
Arcanum has Drog Black Tooth :clap:

Seems arcanum had allot of unused animations for their protos that were actually done. Soon a patch will unlock it so we can see all anymations in full glory! all thanks to Drog Black Tooth.

thanks for posting this.

while with V:tM-B and FO i tried a lot of mod, i never went looking for total overhauls in Arcanum (mostly stuck to small mods there).

now if only i had the time... :(
 
Just a heads up for those who might care. The author of the unofficial Arcanum patch has released the final (so he says) version of his patch (version 080708). The list of fixes is quite impressive. Link to the patch can be found in the first post of this thread.

Also, the author of this patch released a small Extra's pack which adds back in some lost content. The thread for this can be found here

Lastly, a high resolution enabler was created by the author. Information in regards to this can be found in the first post of his patch thread.
 
Arcanum

I just bought this game (after reading about it here) and am curious as to what patches I should be using.

I'm going to use the official patch, but there is a fan made patch at terra-arcanum. Should I use this one as well?

Yeah, the unofficial patch made by Drog (v 080708) is highly recommended.

Have fun, it's a great game. Don't read any FAQs or walkthroughs and don't worry if you don't see everything the first time through.

Amazon sells both at pretty cheap prices, well cheaper in the UK than the US from looking at both sites.
 
To address any questions about which Arcanum patches and packs you should be using for your first run - Basically all of Drog Black Tooth's work should be on your directory, except for the follower-cheat menu thing, of course.

That is, the Unofficial Patch, the Restoration Pack, and the Hi-Res pack.

Some people will tell you to download other mods on top of that such as Otto Krupp's Firearms mods and the Darke Magick mod -- don't listen to these people. Drog has stated many times and I can confirm that no mods made before the UAP's release are compatible with the Patch.

You can download Drog's stuff from the download section at T-A. I would recommend you guys wait, however, since Drog is about to release his latest (and perhaps final?) version of the UAP.
