First time out of the vault
I am just a new guy coming from China and just curious about if there are some other guys like me in this forum :)
 
Most of the people here are Euros or people from Wisconsin. It's really the same thing.

Odin is some brand of Scandanavian, I'm from Chicago, Wooz is Polish, KQX and a few others are Serbian, Ratty is Croatian.......

There are almost as many Eastern Europeans as Americans I'd wager.

What part of China? My dad will be in Shanghai for a few weeks next month.
 
I was born in Sydney, but as to my European heritage I refer to myself largely as a mongrel GermanoScottishSpanishAussiePomPole.

I don't think we have any Chinese regulars here.
 
Well I am one of those chinese regulars. Well not technically in china but about as chinese as you can get.
 
there have been some chinese here before, but they never seem to stick around

belgium here btw, heart of europe ;-)

Tsk tsk CCR, it's called Scandinavian.. But I'm from Norway, the land of the Vikings and oil 8)
 
Denmark here. Land of booze and beer :D (after all - you only need to be 16 to buy alcohol in the supermarkets and stores; although 18 to 21 to buy at pubs and clubs)

except you guys charge way too much for your booze... whats the use to be able to buy alcohol when you're 16 if it costs you an arm and a leg?

anyway, for real beer you gotta visit belgium (dont misinterpret, i'm not dissin' your own beer). we have hundreds of types and tastes of beer.

as for the buying alcohol thing? noone will raise an eyebrow if a 14 year old goes off to buy some beer ...

Are you sure you're thinking about Denmark and not Sweden or Norway? Anyway, about 8 months ago the price of booze went down quite a lot, because the taxes were reduced, not that I think it was that expensive before that (though propably more than most other places). Besides we're Danish and we prefer beer, which is cheap in Denmark. You're Belgian so I'd think you'd stick with the beer as well.

BTW, Denmark is also the land of cheese and herring. :D

Edit: I actually hold a double citizenship. I'm half Belgian myself.

yeah, i like beer (almost all kinds really, except dutch beer, which is more like piss ;). truth be told: ok they have a few good beers, but mostly they have crap... ), but i'm open to other kinds of alcohol myself though.

Sure, when I was a kid my mother used to take me to Belgium every year, and now I try to go there at least once a year (I don't always make it, though, since I'm a poor man). I have a lot of family there, especially in Brussels and Antwerp.

Yes, I have. There's nothing I like better than a pubcrawl in Brussels. In Denmark you usually only get to choose between 5-10 different beers, and they don't even have a specific glass for each type.

Well, i'm from brazil (so is Zoe, who i think hangs around mostly at the roleplay boards), there are also a few portuguese regulars here (Briosafreak and Roleplayer). Lots of European People here, but very few orientals.

And as far as booze discussion goes, I win. Here you can buy a 1 liter bottle of hard booze (the traditional brazilian pinga, roughly equivalent to tequila os vodka) for about 1 Euro. of course it tastes like cleaning alcohol, but hey, it's the alcohol that matters right?
