Ancient One
I've been out of town and people might already know about this A.P.E.C. tidbit.
The Aussie Chaser comedy team almost managed to get to George Bush's Hotel, penetrating several layers of security disguised as an official Canadian motorcade. Chas Licciardello was dressed as Osama bin Laden.
They were arrested and could face a maximum penalty of six months in jail. They didn't expect to get anywhere near as far as they did, so this may cause a bit of a legal headache.
They should air the segment on The Chaser's War on Everything on Wednesday night and [hopefully] put it on the net.
I like the fact that people try this sort of stuff here, even getting paid for it by the national broadcaster, but it is still sad for those who seem to screw up and will no doubt suffer adverse consequences.
Quite embarassing for officials, with swarms of policemen, snipers, special forces etc. It is very reassuring when police are duped so easily and cannot recognise clearly fake identification (or TV personalities).
And people wonder why our security isn't always trusted.
