Looks like a great sequel that actually expands on the first game. It seeks to not cut out large parts of what made the original great like many other sequels but to expand instead...

Looks pretty fun too....

This looks real good so far. Arkham Asylum was a great game.

The game looks pretty awesome, the FUnky trailer is the best one, but I prefered Psycho Nurse Harley to Goth Harley, they should havae gave her her original full body costume, don't see why make her so much like a gang memeber, but the game still looks good, you seem to be able to grapple mid air, and change directions.

Yeah, the Harley Quinn BDSM redesign is a bit meh. Exploitative, too, but you know designers can't resist that in a fan fave.

Arkham Asylum was a great game and this one looks to be, well, great too. What more can one say.

Arkham Asylum was awesome, but mainly for the fighting system. It lost a lot of points for me for the painful linearity, which is a shame, because the locations looked totally awesome. Shame that there wasn't much to do in them (I don't count collecting Riddler trophies as a worthwhile endeavour - that's something best left for consoletards of the previous century IMO).

Arkham City looks like there will be a lot more freedom of movement (gliding between buildings looks fun), almost like Prototype. Let's hope that they can deliver a bit more play time and a bit more freedom/replayability (let's face it, once you've done the story and tried the challenges in Arkham Asylum, there was nothing left).

This can't come soon enough. Arkham Asylum was one of my favourite games, and this is looking like it ramps everything up a bunch. Some of the new fighting stuff looks cool as well.

1 hour 42 minutes until I play Arkham Asylum for the first time. Had the game for ages but my download rate is so rubbish I never installed it before.

im guessing its a licesning issue as to why its called arkham city rather than gotham city.

Nope. After the events of the first game they pull an "escape from NY" and convert an old zone of Gotham in a temporary asylum, and they call the zone Arkham City.

You can actualy find blueprints for Arkham City (along with some concept art) in a secret room in the asylum after beating the game.

Yeah, and it was hidden so well that the developers themselves had to reveal it. To be honest I don't know how they expected someone to find it on their own without any clues. There wasn't anything hinting at its existence in the map, it didn't show up on the x-ray visor and to blow the wall you had to place three charges instead of one. Seriously.

Robin is DLC? As in, they want to get people to PAY to play Robin?

Ahahaha!

(ok so it's preorder DLC, but c'mon, could you have a more unattractive lure than "play as Robin")

Still haven't gotten more than a few hours into the first one because it's so boring and easy. Great atmosphere and looks. They nailed it using all the voice actors from the animated show. But the core gameplay is so fucking simplistic I don't know how anybody besides console gamers and die hard Batman fans can stand it.

Actually, Robin is not inherently a bad character. It just happens that the characterization of him in TV shows and movies has always been poorly done for the most part. This is more for people who read the comic books, especially for fans of Tim Drake. Other media always depicts Dick Grayson as Robin, who hasn't been Robin in decades. His current alias is Nightwing.

Which reminds me that he was announced as DLC.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the Nightwing Bundle Pack for Batman: Arkham City will be available November 1. Nightwing comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and is playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Wayne Manor and Main Hall. The pack also contains a bonus Animated Series Nightwing character skin.

The Robin Bundle Pack is scheduled for availability on November 22 to all owners of the game.

Both download content bundles will be offered on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for 560 Microsoft Points and PlayStation®Network for $6.99.

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City - five times larger than the game world in Batman: Arkham Asylum - and the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.
