Bethesda has the best fan interaction *ever*

Anyone who has visited this site more than once knew that such reactions were to be expected when announcing a FO3 that's radically different from it's two predecessors. Basically, they're saying that many of the characteristics that made the FO1&2 unique are to disappear.

So, the Bethesda people might have a good deal, but so far they haven't played their cards well.

If I'm saying give these guys a chance, I'm a Bethesda fanboy? Hell, I've played Morrowind for like 2 minutes and that's all I know about their games. However, I've heard they're good at what they do so all the uninformed bickering here really pisses me off when practically nothing has been announced about the game.

They don't do games that are styled the same as Fallout. Their good at what they do which has nothing to do with Fallout. Their style/sub-genre mixed with Fallout will not work. Fallout is heavily based on pen and paper role playing games, it wont be Fallout if it doesn't stick to that style.

This isn't a case of a woman who has never given birth before... more a case of a woman who has given birth to 5 ugly kids. Sure, there may be a chance the 6th one with be a sexy stud... but thus far, they've proven themselves only capable of producing the ugly ones .

And I think kids who are good at sports versus intelligent might be more acceptable here. Ugly kids sounds too much like bad games when its more the games are unrelaed to one another .

On topic, it's rather depressing that they wouldn't consider coming here to ask for input solely because they fear the way we'd treat them. Who better to run ideas by than those who know their shit? JE had the good grace of running his design ideas by us... I don't see why they can't handle the same. And as has been mentioned, if he didn't want to be quoted, he never should have said anything.

Here is where you go wrong, they never said they were drastically changing any thing, as nothing has been officially released, except the licens deal, you're really jumping to conclusions to soon.

Just disregard what you think you might have picked up from all the vaque interviews, and wait for some offical things.
And yes this will take alot of time, but the game itself won't be finished for at least another 2-3 years.

I'd like to thank everyone who posted negative crap in this and other threads, based on nothing but out of context quotes, for ensuring that no Bethesda employee is ever going to post about Fallout 3 on a public forum ever again, that none of them will ever take anything NMA has to say seriously ever again, and for ensuring that I won't be able to post anything at the SA games forum for months, if ever again, without getting buried under an avalanche of flaming. Ché: Point well taken. As "saying" might have been the wrong term, they are certainly implying that there will be changes, and that there might very well be changes in Fallout's very basic structure.

My point however, was that such statements and interviews do cause reactions here at NMA, and, from my point of view, a lot of the response has been legitimate. That said, I do believe that some members might have stepped out of line, but that too was to be expected.

If such response was unwanted, then Bethesda should have been more restrictive on (and more careful when) giving interviews.

We never flamed Bethesda and went "OMFG lewl its gonna be soooo b4d!!!!". No. Most of us, at least all the posts I've read here, are simply saying "do Fallout 3 like we expect, or we'll flame you". This is perfectly understandable. I don't remember being this active on Interplay when they announced Fallout 3. And we got fucked over with FOPOS. It's all a pre-emptive strike this time.

The apparent developer sounds much like that necromancer character in Baldur's gate that goes "Stop touching me!" when you select him.

I used to read NMA regularly, but ever since the prolonged FO:BOS bashing (surely it was a shitty, shitty game, though) the site has really degenerated. Now you seem to bash anyone who tries to change even the slightest thing in the game series, and as this BS news update made from out-of-context quotes from a humor site's forum implies, you seem to be getting pretty paranoid about it.

First me and Odin were for months battling the pro FOBOS pro RT Fallout3 monkeys at SA and got away just fine, think positive, it`s a life experience that will toughen you up a bit .

Second they never intended to do that, already there are Pro Bethesda Fallout3 sites beeing created, with forums, and a pro Bethesda Fallout3 channel was created on IRC. The way they attack Fallout fans from everywhere as rabid and NMA Supernerds forgetting that Morrowind fans and Bethesda Plants are doing the same here and at the Codex show they have a demagogical speech ready in order to bring us down, while avoiding us by using their own forums, sites and channels, aswell passing off the record to gaming sites and gaming mags that we`re terrible and they are victims.

The thing is getting to a point where i just saw someone well known from the Fallout community attacking the Fallout fans, in a one sided manner, while he`s saying to his close friends that Bethesda can only make Morrowind with guns... i`m all for giving chances, as you know Montez, but they`re not helping out here.
