BG in NWN2

So much work and dedication, it's admirable. I have no idea why someone would port a fine lookin game into this garbage engine though.

It's because both are same garbage half-turn half-realtime system.

For me only SOZ was fun but else things(BG2, Torment, NWN2 original. I didn't tried MoTB yet) just boring. for SOZ, it was fun because of party-based and use skill to various things combat part wasn't that fun.
Funny thing is D&D was actaully designed for turn-based, there's too little games that uses turn-based system in windows.
That half real, half turn based system made me thought D&D is not fun.

The main campaign of NWN2 is as banal as it gets. Skip. I've read many good things about MotB and really want to like it, but the shit engine, retarded camera, MMO UI etc. always make me uninstall the game. :/

Mask is great, it reminds one a lot of Planescape. If you really don't want to play it you can see this amazing Let's Play http://lparchive.org/Neverwinter-Nights-2-Mask-of-the-Betrayer/Update 01/

Albeit I do agree that NWN's engine pretty much sucks. I understood the purpose of remaking Baldur's gate in Dragon Age's engine, but I cannot play Neverwinter Nights long enough for the life of me.

@ Sea: didn't know your mod was done. I'll give it a try sometime. Product placement FTW eh?

@sea - Making a mod out of already existing content is not the same as making original content. For all you know, this guy may be horrible at writing. All this proves is that he is dedicated, has attention to detail and is a good level designer. I have seen this same comment from you on 4 different places now. Why not just appreciate what he has actually done, or if it doesn't interest you, look the other way and focus on something that actually does.

As for the mod, I tried it out right away. Seems a little buggy still and I don't agree with some things he did. For one, the healing skill seems mostly useless, as does the conversation skills. They have hidden uses in some dialogue, but only on very rare occasions it seems. He has also narrowed down the open areas in-between cities, and has made monsters spawn close to your location. This renders tracking useless, and doesn't allow you to sneak up on enemies or even plan most encounters.

Other than that, it feels pretty much like playing Baldur's Gate. Things are very similar. Like I said, he's paid great attention to detail.

Looks great.Do they require the original files to work?
As it says, "NOTE: Baldur's Gate: Reloaded requires that you have both Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir expansion packs installed." So basically you need the full NWN2 installation. I certainly plan to dust mine off.

Well, it comes with excellent modding tools and a community which appreciates it to boot.

I'll probably try it out, but it makes me sad that this guy spent so long remaking a game instead of making original content.
To each his own. One could make a statement to the opposite effect just as easy. Plus I'd rather see a remake for NWN2 than anything for DA, because DA sucks donkey balls. IMO.
