Update: Ok, so I settled on a plum tree. Why you might ask? I don't know. Could be a symbol of youth. But please do not stop posting your ideas. There's always next year...

--

So my mothers birthday is coming up and I feel I have to give her something. I asked her what she wanted but she said that she didn't really want anything else than a good dinner etc. So, what to do? My dad already shotgunned the dinner so I should come up with something else.

Got any ideas? Do you usually give your parents gifts? What do you give? I can't really remember how I solved this issue last year...

Things done in the past though;
glass coasters with pics of her kids (that would be me)
a gift card for a massage place (bad idea, wallet empty)
A home made wooden bowl (obviously an bad idea but somehow considered sweet if you're 10 years old)

I'm thinking about one of those Frö greenhouses from Ikea and maybe add a plant to that.

One dozen roses, a birthday card, a bathroom pack (soaps, a sponge, bathsalts) and some scented candles, my mom liked that for last year. You could try that.

This never goes wrong, when in doubt buy:

Best socks that money can buy for a woman.

Is that a Large sports sock?

It's not a bad idea. I think I've done the soap and bathsalt thing before though. Not that it can't be done again of course ;)

Inexpensive, time-wasting, cliche, but usually deemed thoughtful:
A collage of pictures with you and your mom, with a big heart in the middle and some phrase you'd see in a hallmark card.

Girls sometimes enjoy straying their interest from materialistic things for more sentimental items. Give it a try if you don't have any "good" ideas.

This is also a good way for saying, "I'm poor," and could benefit you in the future.

You already called dibs on her milk-makers years ago, why not go the whole nine yards?

I love Arkansas.

how about a beautifully framed print-out of the 10 most homo-erotic things you've ever said in The Order, decorated using only circa-1991 adult-themed clip-art?

(most hyphens used in a single sentence, ever).

or a Brett Favre poster? (GB colors, btw, ftw)

No, it is THE large sports sock. Wool and other materials mixed together with perfect design will keep her feet warm for all situations. A mother with cold feet is not a happy one and these will keep them warm in all conditions.

Well go for things she might use and dosent have. I started a trend, by buying her MP3 player, then laptop and now dish washing machine(its a savior for post birthday parties when cleaning starts).
