Call of Duty: World at War is...

... announced. God damnit, another fucking WWII shooter. The franchise really evolved with Modern Warfare and now they are going back to World War II. Ugh. With the new Brothers in Arms coming out soon, they have really shot themselves in the foot with this one.

Well, if its any consolation, CoD6 is rumored to be a futuristic shooter.

And, at least it isn't in Europe. I can only fight in Normandy so many times.

Sucks.

I would've enjoyed a Vietnam or a Dominican Republic setting.

Meh. There is no real Vietnam FPS besides Vietcong 1 & 2 and BF:V... Next COD should be Vietnam! (or maybe Korea)

For fucks sake ....didn't we have enough WWII games ?!
I am not surprised though...infinity ward isn't enolved in this Call Of Duty .

The game has also taken on a grittier, edgier tone. We've kind of taken off the gloves with this one. We're not sanitizing World War II.

I sincerely doubt the accuracy of this statement.

Until the final mission of a WWII game is liberating prisoners of a concentration camp (there doesn't even need to be any shooting) no one can tell me they've offered an unsanitized version of WWII.

What the f....I'd have sworn that I read somewhere that it's going to be modern warfare again. Well, looks like it's going to be a disappointment instead.

Modern combat games are not as common as WII games, but they are still far too common, I'd like neither in my opinion.

There's this pretty neat mod for Half-Life 2 that's based on the Revolutionary War, it's actually pretty cool, and smart to boot.

Because it takes so long to reload your weapon, it often turns into an all out brawl where people are firing from far away only to have the enemy charge and start bayoneting.

I enjoyed it, although I didn't play it for that long.

As far as I'm concerned, the concept of muzzle loading rifles in video games is an entertaining idea, if anyone can execute it properly.

A WWI shooter would've been interesting.

What's it called? I'd like to look into that.

muzzle in FPS=Golf clubs in sports games. There only fun when you can use them as a melee weapon. I miss the whole Quake scene.

Battlegrounds. It is seriously one of the most hilarious mods ever.

They took a bunch of the strategy out of the game when they made it so you could change weapons while reloading, but it was still fun last time I played (maybe 8 months ago).

The population maxxed out at about 30 though.

I played a bit last night. Great fun!
Someone should do some better maps, though.

CoD 5 is probably going to suck - like the previous ones done by this company (CoD 3 & Big Red One)
