Can anybody help me with planescape torment?

I know this is a fallout board but planescape torment is from the same company in the same style etc.
I will make a bet many of you have played it.
Anyways i bought some magic missile scrolls for Dakkon and i right clicked them so he could scribble them down on his magic book.
But the skills i bought arent in his spell wheel.
What did i miss?

You have to select the spell as one of his currently memorized level 1 spells in his spellbook and then rest before it is available for use.

It's also quite possible for mages to fail at the scribing of scrolls [IIRC], and as such, the scroll can be wasted.

Dak'kon should already know level 1 spell Reign of Anger, which is almost the same as magic missile.

Oh yeah, I thought I remembered something about a special version of MM that's actually better, but couldn't remember if it was an unlock from the circle or not.
