"Cannot save patch000.dat"

I get this error message every time I try to use the mod runner program... anyone know what causes this? Only one person has mentioned this in this forum as far as I can find using Google, but no one replied. There's a bunch of other results... but its in some language with a bunch of symbols.

Can someone help me out with this?

Yes, this topic is really well hidden, stickied, about three lines above yours. Problems with Fallout2 Mods and patch000.dat.
Good news though, you don't even have to look past the first page for help with Modrunner.
