CBS Canceled Jericho X2

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Well for those that don't all ready know... The show that won a second chance by way of peanuts has been canceled a second time around... Many believe this was the plan from the start, that CBS just needed to provide and ending and get on with their other "more popular" programs.

I doubt there will be the flood of fans to save it this time around. The near half year hiatus helped kill the show. In the end, I personally think this will be a brief shining jewel amidst most of the popular programming by the major television networks. It's just too bad it had to end after roughly one season.

How did everyone feel about the ending?

This sucks. And in germany they even didn't finished the first season... and also didn't released a german dvd...

here in Portugal they are still showing the first season but i doubt they will show the 7 episodes of the second season. I kinda liked the series. I wasn't expecting that CBS canceled the show.

In SIC yes, on AXN it's going to be shown all the way. It's on the 8th episode of the first season.

Also good to note that the Sci-Fi channel has picked up the rights to air re-runs but I doubt they would pick up the show... They are more interested in running wrestling and soap operas than they are sci-fi programs... Uggs they are scam artists and noobs

Yeah, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who sure do suck...

Did I say that? I could have sworn I didn't... Well, at any rate my statement is still valid. They claim to be a sci-fi channel yet they are shooting for soap operas, wrestling, and an endless stream of B Sci-Fi movies. They refuse to gamble on things such as Firefly. They cancel lead programming like Stargate and to a lesser extent Battlestar Galactica.

Scandals such as the viral marketing, and serious employee embezzlement are just a few things that assist the Sci-Fi channel and its parent company to become one of the lowest rated networks.

Key people for the channel need to go and those with the original vision need to step up.

Battlestar Galactica, Atlantis and SG-1 reruns are the only things I still watch on SciFi anymore.

Hell, once BSG is over I may just cancel my cable subscription; not much else out there that's worth watching.

wow, same here!

hey, for me, the true spirit of SG-1 ends when they found the lost city in season 7. At least there's SGA... waitin' for season 5. As regards BSG... I'm impatiently waitin' to see the season 4.

Ok, fuck sending them nuts. Let's send them grenades.

no, the best thing to do is to send something which would have a greater media impact; and as a matter of fact, there's always a sexual connotation... so I suggest that each woman composing the female audience sends her dildo to CBS.

if they don't pay attention with that...

Oh god... used dildo's being shipped to CBS... I can see the MSNBC headline now... Female fans miss Skeet, swear vow of celibacy.

As someone who watched the Sci-Fi channel from it's inception (although not with a religious continuity) I can say that other than a few distractions (such as wrestling, reality shows, and soap operas- the latter I've never seen) it is pretty much living up to the quality of programming that it started out with: Lots of Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Incredible Hulk, and lots of terrible Sci-Fi B movies. Occassionally they had good Sci-Fi Movies I think I saw both the director's cuts for The Abyss and David Lynch's Dune during the 90's - which made it a big deal.

Yes, they could do much better, but the fact that they've put out a few quality shows over the past few years (especially BSG) makes up for it in my opinion. The wrestling and anything not Sci-Fi or fantasy or creepy or alternate universe (and I don't mean professional wrestling) needs to go. They actually do have good business reasons for doing what they do, which is making their own B-grade Sci-Fi or fantasy movies. The reason is that they feel like no matter what they will never get the ratings pull that HBO or AMC get so they can't afford to pay the higher royalty rates that hit movies garner. So there alternative is to get crappy programming (B movies, lame shows, etc.) and make their own B movies so they don't have to pay royalties.

Where this is really screwed up is that instead of getting recent film school graduates to make a $500,000 gritty, psychological, labor of love films of a limited scope that could actually be really good they get hack directors to make films that are trying to be the next big-budget Aliens or Lord of the Rings, but with their $1,000,000 budget and overly-used crappy CGI, crappy sets, and crappy camera work. The stories never congeal because the films are trying to be something that they never could be. The hack producers must like drivel because I'm sure they could get good performances out of unknown actors if they had directors and writers that were passionate about it. Instead they get 1 or 2 B+ list actors to headline it, but they are just working for the paycheck.

in the same sci-fi vein, nbc cancelled journeyman... that pissed me off...

could never really get into jherico, always something better on.

I wonder if you guys would watch a weekly TV show involving zombies taking over the planet.

That'd be pretty cool, actually.

A TV show like this would be pretty cool, yes. But only if it will not be O.C., California in Zombie-Town or similar "dramatic" stuff.
