CD-Action magazine plays Fallout 3

Gambling is illegal in Washington D.C.

Only really I can think of for removing it.

See, they are adding to the immershun.

Good lord. I have read this thread and Good M'Atra people, stop nitpicking. You take the smallest of flaws and blow them completely out of proportion.

Who the fuck cares that whores don't want to sleep with you?

CDA has nailed some important points - it plays like an FPS, is unlike previous games and people loving the previous ones won't find much of interest there. Also, something unseen - exclusive graphic materials, including decent environment art (ruined industrial sector/ruined suburbs), facing with a new weapon against an old US Army combat bot (a bit steampunkish, though), a lifting-off Vertibird (TOTALLY FAITHFUL, I CAME).

Find something positive to talk about instead of bitching. Jesus.

No wonder we're called rabid.

EDIT: Not aimed at the two fine lads preceding me.

Find something positive? Isn't that bethesda's job? Shouldn't it be THEM giving us something positive?

I thought I'd add something I read in an article in the xbox world 360 (uk edition) regarding the shooter aspect, apparently just playing it as a shooter makes it a lot harder at least according to the review. The reviewer apparently was allowed to actually play it for about three hours but had to stay away from the main quest line. With Megaton he decided to save it and mentioned that he was given a shack which like all future homes can be themed in different ways - pre-war, mr loverman and vault themes were mentioned. The article also mentioned that some specific creatures will not be level scaled at all ie the Radscorpions and deathclaws. He also mentioned that after
the three hours of play 99% if the gameworld was still to be explored.

That's good news. Means console FPS junkies will stay away from it, at least they won't like playing it...

to give another quote out of the article.

Yet the greatest secret in Minefield isn't the hidden safes in the bedrooms of the paranoic ex-householders, but the two keletons lying together in a nondescript house near the centre of town. The two bodies lie hugging each other on a tarnished mattress in a burned out room: a husband an wife who didn't make it into vault 101 - your vault - and died when the first bombs fell. Fallout 3 is about the little details, and they're everywhere.

It goes on to say that everythings been 'placed by hand' instead of being placed by software designed to make a credible landscape.

Morbus, get your act in fucking order.

We do not need nor want a second Sorrow. Your posing isn't helping either your position or the website.

And comparing me to Sorrow. I think Sorrow's gonna feel a little insulted ;)

Anyway, I say what I think mkay? As long as it's not in a trollish manner or anything, I don't see where the problem is. And if you've got a problem with that, you come talk to me you grizzly furry moderator bethesda spy you.

It would be great to be a spy, one might even be able to get a neat little lunchbox to take to work!!

Don't push your luck. Your disposition as well as manner of speaking is unacceptable. Your mouthing off isn't going to impress anyone.

Now review your behaviour and get your act in order.

Matter closed, all further attempts at discussion will be vatted.

well i recall fallout 2 being so full of stereotypes that they originally had a folder in your game directory called "stereotypes".*

there is nothing bad in having stereotypes. gosh, most of good games BATHE in stereotypes! but, on the other hand, those stereotypes (in crpgs, at least) are used in a more or less clever way to define you, the player, and your character. that is something we are not able (yet) to judge. if someone had pre-played fallout 1 and came up with "typical rural town", "conflict between sheriff and mafioso in a small, western-ish town" etc... would there be the howls of decisive non-agreeing all over the nma, too?

*- outright lie disguised as clever ruse
