Change mod load order

HaleBob

First time out of the vault
Hello,

in the readme of some mods i read that i could/should use fomm to change the load order of the mods and that i could use fomm as a louncher.

I took a look at it but was not able to figure out how to change the load order. For Oblivion you could just move the mods up or down in the list. I could not find something similar in fomm.

Does anyone know how this works?

Thank you!

neither was i, but u can change it manually from going to your appdata/locale/fallout 3 folder and modifying plugins.ini

mine lookslike :

C:\Users\loginname\AppData\Local\Fallout3

on vista.

Drag and drop. Hold the mouse down over the mod you want to move, drag it where you want it and let go.

If fallout 3 behaves like oblivion, mod load order is not based on plugins.txt; it's based on the last modified timestamp of the esp. plugins.txt was mearly a list of which plugins to load. (I haven't actually checked what fallout does, so if you know something that I don't let me know. :P)

You can simply move them in Fomm up and down, just by dragging them.
The orginal datalauncher however is stupid and will load them in alphabetical order again as soon as you use it. You can simply rename the mods, like: aa no god mode vats, ab mod-x
this way the fallout launcher will load them your desired way. or you use fomm everytime you want to play f3
