Change the character model?

First time out of the vault
I want to change my character model, but i don't want to start a new game from zero, so is there any way to change the model of a saved character?
i am using EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1 from sfall so i already have another model downloaded, but again, i don't want to start a new game.

Do you have any modifications on your game, like the Restoration Patch or such?

EDIT: Hm, you didn't specify which game you were talking about, my mistake.

GoG I got no knowledge about sadly, I just know bits from what I've experienced in the RP (which is quite fun as well). With the RP you can change your characters a bit, from hairstyles to genders (if finding a special location ingame).

Sorry that I can't aid much with the other mod.

@mainque - if you use the Restoration Project you can change the players appearance, see below.

Try this - in the Fallout 2 Restoration Project folder is another folder called Appearance. - Fallout2 RP2.2\Appearance.

Inside this folder are 2 folders - HMR00S01 (long hair) and HMR00S02 (bald).

Just swap the names of the folders around to change the appearance of the PC. Alternatively just rename the "appearance folder" to something else, to change the player back to the original character.

So, if i want to swap back to the appearance of my character he had at the beginning, when he was not wearing the stupid vault suit? How could i do that?

Nevermind. I discovered that the tribal model doesn't have half of the weapons animations, so it would be useless. Man, they could have made the effort of putting those to that model as well eh. Ah well...

Unfortunately the animators were restricted with what they could render because space was limited on the CD the game shipped with...the original models and textures probably still exist somewhere out there, it's a shame they were never released to the public.

I built a few new tribal models years ago, they are in the Restoration Project critter folder.

It was the female critter - new knife and hammer animations - it was years ago, I can't remember the details, brain is slow...

Ah. I usually don't pay much attention to female characters, so i didn't notice, sorry. By the way, do you think i could swap the palette for having my character with the leather jacket and blue pants instead the all-black version? (i liked also the mordino's biker-style guards, but something tells me they have only few animations lol)

I won't be touch any critter editing for a while, it's a really draining exercise. After Mutants Rising is released then I'll look into it.
