Chernobyl photos

[Rusty Chopper]

Vault Dweller
To the 19th anniversary of the accident on the nuclear plant of Chernobyl. Some photos of the city of Pripiat'. Maybe you've already seen them somewhere, still somebody hasn't, so don't blame me. Enjoy.

Sweetness. I plan going there and taking pictures.

Someday.

A huge fence surrounds Chernobil. There's only one gate, at which there are guards with AK's. A huge sign on the gate says:

CASTRATES ONLY!

Ahhh, but imagine the kind of pictures I'd be able to take. The abandoned city of Pripyat, left exactly as it was almost twenty years ago... My last pictures of abandoned places already earned me publishing them in the press, and a photoreporter's license.

Even National Geographic would fellate me for good pictures of Chernobyl.

I understand there are organized lead suit trips, with guides equipped with geiger counters, inside the zone, and it would be even easier to get a pass mentioning I'm from the press or something along those lines. Hmmm.

Um...in Rusty Chopper's second post the fourth picture from the top has some sort of "plant" growing in front of the building in the lower left of the picture. What are those things?!

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Something William Wordsworth would have imagined in the equinox of fever dementia.

SERIOUSLY! They look like one of the plants in Xen you see while playing Half-life...

Something tells me their some sort of rotted structure or just a piece of art.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Impressing, indeed (may I say something intelligent and philosophical now, like "human stupidity and arrogance led to this horrid disaster"?).
