Czech gay asylum 'phallometric test'

I dont know actually what to think about it because this is so confusing that I dont know where to start with.

Thoug I guess I will go first with : What does this even mean ? Gay asylum ? And people which seek to enter it ?

I know eastern europe (including Serbia) have a huge problem with homosexuality. No clue why if its because of the religion ~ for example aprox 95% of poland is more or less catholic. Or because of the way things work in eastern europe. Homophobia is a big issue in Serbia at least. And I know from the east european friends I have that most of them have not a very good attitude regarding gay people as some of them tried to explain me how gays or homosexuals would cause less birth of children. Yeah ... because we all know homosexuality works like a virus right. And even if you look at them you can become one too ! So better watch out !!!

I find the fact alone that there is a gay asylum insulting and against any kinf of human rights. Test ? What a shit. In Germany during the 70s it was alright to arrest people eventually and sending them in some asylum for beeing gay ~ there was some kind of law pretty old but still. Thankefully that doesnt happen anymore and was changed at some point. At least something which the movements of the 60s changed.

It is very sad to see how those people including lesbians (which are though a bit "more" accepted by the western culture then male gays) are threated by the society in general. I think there is still a long long way to go before a real tolerance is reached. Even in so "educated" nations like Germany.

It is insulting indeed and it just fits 'perfectly' in this new Europe that is returning more and more to populist and often even (semi closet) neo nazi/ fascist parties.

They are now perfectly accepted and even have seats in governments all around Europe. (Lega nord in Italy for example, Gianni Alemanno mayor of Rome)

another example of the ongoing "march to the right" that Europe has been experiencing in the last decade.

The Fundamental Rights Agency said the Czech Republic was the only EU country still using a "sexual arousal" test.

Did you even read the article before posting it?

I cant say that for Germany as things here are pretty "liberal" the politans talk a lot of shit, but thats what happens everywhere so no change here.

What I really find disgusting is how "gay couples" are still seen as a seperate couple in front of the curt for example ~ in Germany which I thought has very good laws with gay marriages. There is a way how they can have a relationship which is recognized by the gouvernement but it is still not seen as a marriage and thus has not yet the equal rights. Why bother ? Well to say that I never thought about it in the past even thinking that a marriage should be reserved to heterosexual couples. But its a discrimination to not grant gay people the exact same right. And I am not talking about the church. What they do does not bother me. If they dont want in their house/building thats fine I respect that of course as the church can decide whath appens on their ground.

But the civil registry office should not seperate heterosexuals and homosexuals because if some gay marriage dont have the same rights as heterosexual marriages this will cause some issues. Mainly a discrimination in my eyes. A legal status like a marriage would grant those people the same rights everyone has. Like in the case of the death if one of them died. Often enough families particuilarly if they didnt accepted the lifestyle of the dead partner fight with the remaining partner for example over the heritage which would be in a usual marriage no issue since the husband has a clear right.

Not to mention that even the gouvernement still sees gay couples as different to heterosexuals. Meaning "they" are still different. So it feels to me at least.

That some undeducated place like Serbia (I am serbian) full of hillbilies has still some hate or sterotypes in head regarding gays. I cant blame them for that. But that a nation like Germany which feels superior because of its moral and education still cant manage to get over it is still something which I think needs work.

Are you talking about a movement here or a remnant of an older system? The current nationalism in Europe probably uses "liberalism" to support itself; a reason why its culture is superior, they say.

I'd like to choke the hell out of whoever thought that trash up.

Like, it's a completely moronic thought in the first place. You decide if someone's really gay, by showing them straight porn and seeing if they get aroused? Ummmm, I'm pretty sure there's still a man involved in straight porn. Dumbasses.

Of course I did, I also stated that this is just another example of a "movement" that deeply troubles me.

Way to fail Reading 101. The test is a remnant of an old system, the last such instance in Europe.

Basically when someone wants asylum in Czech Republic and as a reason says "I am prosecuted in my country because I am homosexual", those idiots in government actually test whether he really is homosexual by porn.

Truly retarded, that, and I assume it will end quickly. But governments are generally utterly retarded, you would find that citizens are disgusted by it too.

Stuff like

"I know eastern europe (including Serbia) have a huge problem with homosexuality. No clue why if its because of the religion ~ for example aprox 95% of poland is more or less catholic."

does not apply here, most of Czech people are godless heathens myself included and have no problem with homosexuality. Personally from few hundred people I know I don't know anyone religous or homophobic (and if they are, they are great at hiding it).

the east european friends I have are not showing their homophobia all the time either. I only realized it with talking about the topic with them. Its not like they get a panic. Its simply talking trash and sterotypes. Of course I can not talk about the Czech Republic but when they still have some asylum and such a test I doubt that the public is thinking thaaaat much different (It doesnt mean that things are like in Russia or Serbia where they even use the military against gay parades but still).

I am sure there are many in eastern europe which have no problem with gays in any way. But fact is the gouvernements in eastern europe are usualy not on your side when you are a homosexual.

I have a sneaking suspicion the dudes that thought up and administer the test get more out of it than just judging asylum eligibility.

These dudes make J. Edgar Hoover look like a straight arrow.
