Defiance

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Anyone watched it? Is it worth to watch it at all? I've heard lttle-to-none opinions on it, so if anyone can give some insight, I'd be grateful.

As for the whole partisan stuff going on in Poland during WW2, here's a good article on the matter

I watched it and I enjoyed it quite a bit. A lot of the reviews kind of bagged it for its extremes but I still thought it was solid.

The things you have to be wary about are that this movie is pretty lengthy (2.5 hours) and that it varies wildly in its contents. You'll go about an hour where it moves really slowly and then the next 45 minutes it will be jolted up on energy.

Still, I enjoyed it and even though the real story is more powerful, the movie still did a great job of highlighting the struggle of the partisans.

Well, that's what worries me - are the partisans shown as virtous freedom fighters, sacrificing their lives for the sake of the little people? If so, then I have no interest of watching this movie.

some are, yeah, obviously.

this is hollywood!

but otherwise a decent movie, far from great though.

I thought it was pretty good, though I missed a good deal of it. The ending was rot though. It lacked resolution and seemed more like something the writer had concoted to finish in time.

I just couldn't get into it, at all, daniel craig is terrible to me and just generally the whole movie was way too hollywood, powdered up and blown out of proportion, I'd probly pass.

It's funny raging, I thought it was the opposite and instead, that Hollywood downplayed a lot of the real incredible stuff.

Like the winter looked bad in the movie but in real life it must have been devastating. And the emphasis on the romance was kind of bland. The camps they built were tremendous and they managed a heard of cows.

But yea, the ending was probably the most disappointing part because it seemed overly hollywoodized with the way everything occurred at the same time.

Still, I enjoyed it.

So, in your view, what were the partisans all about then?
